The brown spotting just turned into red spotting, so if not by tonight...itll be full on AF by morning. Im actually glad that all the confusion is over at least. I am SO excited I made an appointment with a new RE just to get a second opinion on everything and see what he recommends. Ive always tried to look for the best in all the people at my RE's office, and they are really nice sometimes...but I still cant shake that feeling that I get when I have to call them or see them. They always make me feel like im stupid or something, when I honestly most of the time know more about whats going on than them (the nurses I mean, obviously I dont know more than the Dr!) The last thing that solidified my choice was I called early this morning and left a message saying i need a blood test to check my HCG level and progesterone level, and I wanted progesterone suppositories in the mean time just in case. I knew that wouldnt be a problem my RE okay'd progesterone suppositories last cycle...well that ******** didnt call me back until just now...5:21PM. What if I was actually pregnant and had low progesterone and NEEDED that?
Anyway im rambling now. Im just very excited to get a second opinion on everything. He's going to look through all my blood tests, HSG, history, Jasons SA...etc. Everything. Im hoping to come up with a more aggresive plan. I've been doing alot of research on recurrent miscarriage and have found alot of new interesting information that I am also going to bring up with him. The most interesting being (a girl on JM introduced me to this theory) your body becomming "immune" to pregnancy after a number of miscarriages. (After I explained about getting pregnant so easily before, and now not so much). Here are a couple of the interesting links ive found so far in case anyone reading or lurking is interested.

Oh, and by the way I dont know what were doing yet this cycle since were meeting with a new RE on CD16 i'll probably either already have O'd or about to so unfortunately I guess its another natural cycle...which completely SUCKS. I dont know...Jason and I are gonna have a talk tonight. Maybe we'll just suck it up and deal with my current RE for one more IUI. But I want something more this cycle, a better chance, more eggs...something MORE than what we've been doing.

I'm so proud of you for creating a more aggressive plan on TTC and getting some more opinions!!! You deserve to be pregnant and I have everything crossed that you will be soon!!!
I'm excited to read more, especially about the new RE!!!

Sorry your spotting, Ash, but your last post did sound much more positive. I'm glad you are looking forward and hope you and your new RE will come up with a plan that works quickly!

I think the second opinion will be great. Hopefully some more questions will be answered and a more aggressive plan put into action.

Well as ususal things are tricky for me. I made that appt with the new RE but im a dummy and didnt realize this Dr doesnt do IUI, he just does IVF and mini-IVF so we would have to go straight to the Mini-IVF. I still may keep my appt with him to get a second opinion though...because I have spent the last hour calling RE's in the area (which are VERY few and far between) and im getting "The Dr's retiring this summer, were not taking new patients, were booked until Jan 2011...etc." Nothing is working in our favor! Im SO HOPELESS!!!!!!!!

I hope this doctor at least gives you better ideas! If not, will you stay with this doctor or go back to the other one?? I'm sorry you're having a hard time find a RE doctor Sweetie!

Is there any reason he won't do IUI? Seems like it should be an option on the table at least... doctors should be willing to do the least invasive procedure that meets the patient's needs, IMO...
I feel like the right person or option is going to present itself to you, and it might not necessarily be what you thought. Sorry that sounded kinda like a fortune cookie, but seriously. I really feel like you're due for some kind of success soon...

Kyle, it is so funny that you just posted this... I've been avoiding this thread today because honestly I went out last night and actually had fun for once (hadnt had that in quite some time..) and im kind of, well not feeling good at all today so I dont feel like typing the whole story. But the fact that you just said that, that im due for something good is sort of crazy because for once something good finally happened!
So I had the worst night Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning...Jason and I felt so hopeless. We were not happy with our RE's office and felt stuck because there are so few RE's around here and like I mentioned before after making tons of phone calls lots werent even taking new patients, and one was retiring too. So we were pretty much left with my current RE, as far as I knew. Which totally sucked...he honestly hasnt really made any progress with us, and I just feel like were in a stand still with him. He's all about the treatment of women who CANT get pregnant I think, and stuck in that mindset. So he keeps just offering IUI, which isnt really getting down and figuring out our main problem, miscarriage. I want someone who wants to dig deeper and solve the mystery for us. Or at least do something different each month until something works. So I was crying and venting to my best friend after all of the phone calls yesterday morning. She says "Ash, why havent you called Aarons mom?" (Aaron is her longtime boyfriend) I was like "huh?" Apparantly Aarons mom works for a WOMAN RE (absolutely love that, I hadnt seen any women RE's in all of my researching...I feel women can relate and be more caring when it comes to infertility) anyway.... I always knew his mom was a secretary for a Dr's office, but I had no clue it was an RE!!! I just have to add that Aarons mom is the sweetest woman possibly that I have ever met, honestly. Her husband died last year, and shes been through alot. Yet she still invites us down to the lake with them to hangout for the weekend at their lake house and use the boats and whatnot. So she is no stranger to us. So Ashley gives me her # and I call...and right away she knew it was me and obviously why I was calling. Apparantly Ashley had told her what we've been through already. She was SO sweet, she felt so bad were going through this so young. I told her about my current RE and everything...how many losses we've had. I started crying just letting it all out. She was so wonderful, seriously guys. Anyway, she said "You've called the right place, Dr. Ratts is so amazing to begin with...but I know you and I am going to do all I can for you guys through this." It feels like were finally gonna get somewhere. I cant explain the feeling. I called my old RE and got all my medical records mailed out to me yesterday so they should be at my house today when I get home! I seriously cant wait to just go home and see them. So im to call back tomorrow and schedule an appointment with the new RE and fax over my medical records. She said she would get me in extremely fast! Im so incredibly excited! I've done some research and this practice just looks so great. There are a few Dr's in the practice and actually right now they are doing a study on recurrent pregnancy loss! That is so amazing to me that I am going to have an RE that is studying more into that right now! They are doing a study using metformin to prevent recurrent miscarriages, apparantly its been suggested in past studies that it can help. Im not necessarily looking to get into that study i just think its absolutely wonderful that a Dr that I am going to see is involved in something like that, that has so much to do with what were going through!
So thats my LONG update, sorry guys! Im just REALLY looking forward to our appt with her! I'll update tomorrow when I get an appointment date and time!!!
Oh, and Kyle that Dr wouldnt just not do IUI's for us...he just didnt do them in his practive whatsoever. He was pretty much just an IVF clinic only.

I am just SO angry after getting my medical records from my RE's office in the mail yesterday. There are so many things I wasnt made aware of! Like Jasons SA (was told it was low on a few things AFTER we did a post-coital test the day before the IUI never before then were we told about the results and he had this done back on Jan 6, and we werent told about it until Mar 25 and still werent even told the exact numbers) his Ph was HIGH! Average is 7.2-8.0 and his was 9.0!
And also, in looking at my "follicle study" sheets...my lining was BAD on two of the cycles. Never made aware of that. Another thing is that my Protein S activity was 61 and its supposed to be 60-140%...now call me crazy but thats a little too close to being low not to mention. I googled "Protein S activty and pregnancy" just to see and the first link that came up was called "Recurrent pregnancy loss and thrombophilia" Hmmm...Interesting since I have recurrent pregnancy loss!!
Girls who see/have seen an RE: Do you remember what your DH's SA results were? And if you had the full panel of bloodwork, do you know what your Protein S activity was? I've done so much googling, but its so hard to find specific things like this. So I was hoping to get some to compare with.

ack, i have no idea how i missed this thread till now. i'm a very bad Jm-er! Ash I just read thru the whole thread and i'm so excited for you to see this new doc, but wow what a rollercoaster this has been. I'm also glad you're able to look at your records, i have always hated that docs like to keep them a secret from the very person they are about, to me that just seems like they want to keep the patient in the dark. i hope you can get more done this cycle and that we are in the Feb 2011 ddc together! (even though i'm not technically ttc, theres no harm in seducing dh around Otime )_
