OK, I know I am being absolutely ridiculous, but can anyone can reassure me?
Jaxon is just shy of 7 months and does not really roll. He has rolled belly to back maybe 8 times (and not recently), and has never done back to belly. It's like the idea has never crossed his mind. He can sit upright on his own though and he can stand too for short periods as long as he has something to grab onto. Maybe he is just being lazy?

Taylor HATED it and never really rolled ever She WAS lazy. Rylie loved rolling and started to at 3 months. Kids are just different and know what they like. I wouldn't worry about it

Some babies just don't like to do it! He CAN do it, you've seen him...but he might not be interested. Kind of like how some babies never crawl and just go straight to walking.

He's perfect! Nora was not a roller - cause she was so rolly polly, you can probably read a thousands posts I posted about how she couldn't roll even into 7 months old.....but once she learned to crawl....she has no problem - front to bad, back to front....mostly its back to front cause we've put her on her back for a change or whatever and she wants to get up into crawl position and go!

Some babies just don't like it much and don't do it often. Try not to worry about it. He's developing wonderfully.

well jaxon and payne are like pretty much the same age (his bday was Nov 9) and he only just recently in the last 2 weeks or so started rolling back to front, and he has never went front to back, i'm not sure he even knows that option exists! lol he gets frustrated on his front when he flips himself and starts crying if we dont put him back on his back. also payne cannot 100% sit up on his own, he still topples over, but he's getting stronger every day at it. and there's no way payne would hold himself up in standing position right now, i feel like thats a pretty advanced move for jax! wtg! i'm sure they just all do things at different times, i wouldnt worry!

Huged
Kieran didn't roll back to tummy, AT ALL, till around 7 or 8months (maybe even 9) jsut cause she didn't want to, I watched her get to her side and as soon as she realized I was looking she'd stop
I know how it is to be worried though. Seamus had very bad developmental delays in gross and fine motor skills, he still has problems just not a 6+mo delay like he did (hes at around a 3mo delay now)

Thanks everyone. I know in my head its okay, but ya know... its easy to get caught up in comparing him to the other babies in our PR. Keri, I did remember Nora was not keen on rolling. That's great to know she started crawling right on schedule. And its nice to know we have some other 'lazy babies' on this board!

Sounds like the ability is for sure there, he just doesn't want to haha. No worries! He sounds just fine!
I hated my PR when it came to milestones. It seemed like everyone was a head in every single area. It's really hard not to compare.

I hate every board on JM for this reason both my kids always seem like they are piles of mush when it comes to milestones. It always irks me when people freak cause their 9month old isnt' crawling yet...thats just the beginning of the age group to crawl or walking by 12mo exactly (average age is 11mo-15mo for that milestone). Its hard to not compare, and I've come to the conclusion that on boards like this (not specifically this but I'm saying in general) you're going to see the "advanced" babies talked about and gushed about or people saying their kid can do something and they really can't they just feel bad that their kid isnt' doing it and others are, and you wont hear as much about the "normal" kinds that are doing things in the middle or the end of the age group for that specific milestone.

I have no specific advice except to ignore the PR chatter. You know that most of those women were the ones who had every pregnancy symptom by 5 DPO, their baby was perfect at every single ultrasound, their bellies never developed one stretch mark and then they gave birth painlessly in a warm spring surrounded by rainbows? Their kids are bound to be tap-dancing by 9 months... and by a year and a half you'll have some budding aerospace engineers in there too...
But seriously, Dominic really doesn't like being on his stomach and I don't think he'd roll onto it on purpose for that reason. So maybe that's what's going on. I really wouldn't worry over it!

Nice job Kyle It sounds like he is doing just fine Jessie. People just like to think they have the a prodigy child...so they exaggerate. I had a friend who has a 2 y/o ask me if Jenna is saying Mama yet....b/c her baby started to say it at 3 months. Riiiight.
