I've been thinking & I've gotten to a point we're I dont know what to do.
I was told by my fertility Dr I needed to start loosing weight incase other routes dont work and I need IVF.
I took his advice, as as you know Ive lost 18lb in 8wks (By my appointment in 6wks I hope to have at 6 more lb off) I am hoping the Dr will be happy with the start I have made.
Anyway, back to my post.
I think i might go back on the pill/make Gary wear a condon untill ive lost a bit more weight.
Id love to get pregnant again soon - so badly, But thinking about it, I was 16st when I was pregnant with Mia. I didnt have the easist pregnancy, I also carried through the summer and that was a killer in its self. I also feel my weight was to blame as to why the epi couldnt go in my back. I think id be happy to get down to around 14st then maybe start trying again.
But then, I think that getting this far and seeing the fertility sepicalist was a waste of time just for me to start to get into my diet and want to be thin enough to have a 'cute' bump this time around.
Do you think I should just wait till my next appointment and talk it out with my Dr and see what he suggests??
What would you do?
I also dont ovulate on my own very often. Ive had 3 AF's since May (one of them was forced) last year so getting pregnant on my own might be very slim.

I don't think you are wrong either way. And you are AWESOME for already losing 18 lbs!!! You should be really proud of yourself, and you have obviously found what works and you just need to be diligent and patient for the rest to come off.
I understand what you are getting at with wanting to be healthier for your pregnancy, especially pertaining to IVF. If I were you I would not go on pills. They could mess up your cycles even more than now. I think if you were to fall pregnant before you've met your goal weight, then it is meant to be. Maybe you could do more of a ntnp thing? As long as you are not doing some crazy extreme diet, then it shouldn't have any effect on a embryo if you were to get preggo.

Im doing weight watchers, So i am not doing anything that would damage baby if i did fall pregnant. I just wouldnt be allowed to go to meetings and get weighed if i fell pregnant.

First off, it's AMAZING that you've lost that much! I want your determination once this baby is born I honestly have no advice. I agree with Helen, I'd talk with your doctor and see what he thinks. If you don't wait and get pregnant, that would be awesome because you'd get your baby. If you do wait, than you have the chance to get in better shape and get healthier. In my mind, it's a win win

I don't know how it works over there... will you be able to see the doc right away when you are ready to ttc again? If so, then I would say go with your instinct! If not, I would be a little more hesitant because I wouldn't want to lose the doc and have to wait to get him back. That is just me though, I can be impatient!
I would talk it out with the doctor, see what he thinks. Maybe he can validate whether or not what happened last time was due to the weight.
Either way, it sounds like you have gotten off to a great start!! You are doing a great job on weight loss so far! WTG!

i agree with the NTNP while you're losing weight, especially since you dont ovulate on your own too often. so you will be able to lose weight and then if you end up with a baby it will be a happy suprise. i say keep at the weight watchers & exercising and go in to see your doc. and seriously you are an inspiriation for having lost so much in such a short time! WTG!

Awesome Emma on your weight loss already!!! Getting to a healthy weight is a healthy thing no matter what reason your trying to get to a healthy weight for. I think it would be the best idea to be at your healthiest when you get pregnant...its really what is best for you and baby. I bet it would help you to ovulate more and get pregnant more quickly too. But in the end its up to you. I give you so much credit for already getting a start on it -WAY TO GO!!!!

HUGE CONGRATS on losing that much weight already Emma! Thats so awesome!!!! I think you should totally do what you feel best doing, but if I were put in your situation I would wait to talk to the Dr and see what he/she thinks. But if you really in your heart want to lose more weight before becomming pregnant then I would do that!!
Good Luck whatever you choose!

HUGE congrats on the weight loss. I would NTNP until you have lost more weight, and you may find that the more you lose the more you ovulate on your own. I know for me that the more I lose the less the PCOS is affecting me and my cycles are normalizing, but we are just not moving further forward on the MA path until I get a bit closer to goal.

I honestlly hope thats the case.
I think I may just NTNP till we talk it out with the Dr. Then I can see what he says suggest because it might turn out he wont do anything till i am below a certan weight anyway.

Congrats on the loss so far! You're doing great, obviously going about it the healthy way. If you keep on eating a healthy (not starvation level) diet with lots of fruits/veggies and low on sugar, and moderate exercise, you should continue those habits while pregnant anyway. If you became pregnant, at some point your weight loss would slow down and then hold steady or become a gain as baby got bigger... but of course when pregnant the scale kinda goes out the window anyway since you're weighing two people instead of one. It seems like NTNP might be a good option for you, I for one don't see any harm in it at this time.
