I dont' know if i mentioned this on this board, but my sister found out she was pregnant shortly after I did. She only has half an ovary d/t severe polycystic ovaries. She had 2 surgeries, and was told she would probably have trouble concieving, but that her piece of ovary would keep her from going into menopause. Because of this, she and her husband have never used BC because they felt a baby at any time would be a blessing. Well SUPRISE! She got pregnant. Wasn't even trying. I was over the moon for her. Truly a miracle baby. Her doctor gave her a due date of Dec 10th even though she had no idea when her last AF was. She got her positive pregnancy test on Easter.

Well, She had her first ultrasound today. All they saw was an empty sac, both on external and internal ultrasound. She called me in tears. I'm so upset for her... i don't even know what to say. They are doing another ultrasound next week to see if there's any growth, but they aren't very hopeful. She should be 8 weeks by now. Any prayers you can spare for my big sister would be appreciated.

In terms of support, you've been through a loss yourself, so it would probably be a big comfort to her just to have your understanding and shoulder to cry on. And your current pregnancy might just be the example of hope she needs to carry on and keep trying. Of course, I'd refrain from going on and on about your plans for your baby shower and things like that... for now. But you knew that. I'm so sorry she's going through this. I hope she knows she is far from alone.

Thanks ladies! I'm convinced myself to be hopeful anyways, hoping that she's jsut not as far along as they thought.

I just remember during and after my loss, I couldn't even look at a pregnant person without getting upset. I just hate to think that i could be that painful reminder for her. Though so far she seems to be handling things very well.
