I saw my midwife yesterday. I just found out that there are now more midwives than OBs in my office, WAHOO! I saw one of the new midwives and she was great. I've gained 3lb total so far, blood pressure and urine was fine, and baby's heartbeat was in the 140's I have to go get early GD testing before my next appointment because my sister is an insulin diabetic and I've been so close to being GD my last 2 pregnancies, BLECH! After my dating scan in my 13th week they're going to go with my due date as November 4th even though I told them I should be due the 8th or 9th because of charting. She said she knows and will let me go as long as I want as long as baby is healthy. Good news: I get to find out the gender June 9th It's only 4 weeks and 1 day away, I can't wait! I go for my anatomy scan that day at 11AM (have to be there at 10:45). I then go to my midwife appointment at 1PM for my 4 week visit. I hope baby cooperates, if not, you better believe I'll be paying to find out Anyway, that's my update

so exciting!! that is so soon!

It's wierd how they do that with OB's and MW in the same practice, i dont think we have that here. Here's its just separate and if you see a MW then you do not see an OB, since they do basically the exact same thing. Sounds good that the MW's are taking over ur practice though! I thought MW care (for SIL) was far superior to my experiences with my OB.

You lucky woman! I had to wait all the way until 20 weeks to find out the gender.

Thanks girls! Yeah, the only other practice I went to was with Taylor and I saw 1 OB the whole time. I never see the OBs here. You can ask to see both or one or the other. I saw both with Rylie and they were all great but I LOVE the midwives and since I'm going natural this time, where as with Rylie I knew I wanted an epi, I figured the midwives would be better. I ended up having a midwife deliver Rylie anyway and since the epi didn't work she was such a HUGE support to me

I found out with Taylor at 18 weeks to the day, Rylie in my 19th week, and this one I'll be one day shy of 19 weeks. I convinced my midwife to let me do it early this time I probably would have had to wait if I hadn't asked!

Lisa, you're office sounds like mine here. There are 10 OB's and 5 MW's. I actually see my MW today for the 6 week postpartum checkup. I'm glad you had a good visit! And YAY for finding out the gender in a month. Do you have a feeling? Do you kinda want a boy, or do you wanna stick with what you know (girls)?

Hope your check up goes well Nikki! I think it's a boy because of what we saw on the last u/s but it was early and could still be a girl. This pregnancy is also WAY different than the one with my girls. I have WEIRD symptoms. The left side of my face itches and my left eye twitches off and on... it's freakin weird LoL. I also have headaches and I never had them with my girls. BUT! I can't picture me having a boy so then I say girl. I guess I don't have a feeling? Andy would like to have a son to experience both but said he wouldn't be disappointed at all if we never had a son. I kinda want another girl. I'd love a little boy too of course. Either way, Andy's getting the big "V" next Spring so we're DONE
