Do you use sleep sacks and do/did you like them?
I have a few that were gifts but I haven't need them yet.
Up until recently, I've been able to place a light weight muslin blanket on her and she was fine with that, plus it is breathable, so I am too. But now she has turned into houdini. She is 3 months old and is somehow able to escape from her pajamas!! I have tried ones that are small, roomy, footed, zippers, bottons, you name it. She will bit the sleeves of them, them wiggle her arms out of the sleeves. I've found her the past couple nights with the neck hole of her jammies around her armpits...with both arms out. The only thing she seems to stay in are short sleeved onsies. But I'm worried she will be cold sleeping in that.
And now she is super mobile in her crib too. I found her in every corner of the crib and different times in the night...so the blanket is long gone after a while.
I was thinking of starting to use the sleep sacks now. I guess my only concern is that I will have a hard time getting her to sleep without one once she is too big for it. How old can you use them up to?
**Sorry Shannon! I read your reply on facebook and appriciate your input. I thought it would be better over here.

Henry LOVE them!!! He used the medium and large. Once he was too big for the sleep sack (at about 10 months), I felt very comfortable giving him a blanket instead.

Did he need have a hard time sleeping without it when you first transitioned to a blanket?

Not at all. At first, I started to only use the sack for night and not naps. At nap, he'd get a small blanket (mostly because I was paranoid he would get it caught over his head and this way I could check on his frequently ). Once Henry and I were both comfortable with him using a blanket, we switched at night with no problems. He actually really enjoyed being able to snuggle it against his face which he couldn't do with the sack.

I've used them a few times, but Kylie doesn't move around much and prefers blankets so she can snuggle her face into them as she falls asleep, plus she usually sleeps in a light sleeper or onsie because she gets hot easily. But I think in your case it sounds like a great solution. And I don't think it'll be a problem once she's too big for them, I would think by then she'd be keeping her clothes on better lol and you would feel more comfortable with a just a blanket.

That is pretty funny
Cambria was swaddled till she was 9 months! Talk about Ridiculous!!! We used the Sleepy wrap but that tied her arms down. We tried the sleep sacks later but when she was turning all around she would get twisted in it. I just put her in pants and a long sleeve onesie later on.

We used them every single day until he was 6 months old. Now we use them some days and others not depending on how cold it is. I think because it does not swaddle them at all, they don't even notice if it is taken away. He didn't blink an eye. I like them because he moves ALL over his crib and the sleep sack 'follows' him!

Kirsty's STILL wearing sleeping bags for bedtime. They go up to age 3yrs here. I dread the day I have to stop using them cos she moves about soooooo much in her sleep. I have no idea how to wean her onto blankets!

Here is my experience...Harrison and Nora both loved them and it was all they wore up thru 10 months or so (neither like swaddling).....when they both neared one (like Nora right now) I switched to regular pajamas and a blanket. I was really wary of the blanket thing so they had to be able to really move around for me to feel comfortable with a blanket. If its colder Nora still wears the sack pajamas (she still fits in the 0-9 month ones!). I have the carters ones that are long sleeved and made out of sleeper material but the bottom is a sack and not sleeper feet. both my kids so far don't fight transitions...so I had no problems putting either of them in either kind of pajamas.

I swear by the sleeping bags !!! I have never used blankets on my kiddos until they went in a proper bed .. Ryan had a sleeping bag til he was 2 ... then I got him a fleece sleeper which I used to put on over his vest and jammies as an extra layer should he come out of his blanket .. he had a fairly thin duvet when he first went in a bed. Chloe has been in them since birth and she will have one til shes 2 or however long shes in a cot for .. then will do the same .. will get her a pink sleeper

I use a sleep sack when it's cooler, but now that it's warm we just stick with pj's. I absolutely love the sleep sacks! It probably wouldn't hurt to try, hopefully it wouldn't make her mad when she's moving around. Maybe just buy one to start, in case she doesn't like it.

Thats all we used. We never swaddled her at all either. We've never had no issues with her sleep either. Shes been a fantastic sleeper from birth.
We stopped using them when she started walking incase she'd get up and try walking in her cot and fall over

I have used one and found that it worked well for the most part. Unfortunately with living in the tropics, the use was short-lived as Miss Amara sweats alot.
