We're home! We came home Monday afternoon. I have written out my birth story but it was three pages long, so you will have to let me edit it down to eliminate some of the rambling. In the mean time, I thought I would share the good stuff... pics!

Nursing is going well. It took us about a day to get down. She is a champion latcher! Even the nurse said so because once she is latched it is really hard to break the seal. My milk came in yesterday, so she's a happy girl. Question... when does it stop hurting so darn bad? It only hurts for the first couple of minutes, but it is pretty toe-curling painful.

Sleeping is a challenge right now. During the day she sleeps no problem and when she is awake she is happy, but at night she gets fussy, awake or asleep, for what seems like no reason. I don't get it. I don't think she likes to sleep on her back either. Any tips here are appreciated.

Anyway, on to the pics!

Here's my beautiful girl... Introducing Charlotte!

Probably about an hour old:

VERY proud daddy:

You can tell we are paranoid first time parents, already using the little nose/mouth sucker.

OMG! She is goregous! She has so much hair! I want to see more pictures of her.

I remember the first couple weeks I curled my toes and braced for the soreness when he first started sucking. It gets much better after 2-3 weeks. After that it gets easier and easier.

She is a doll!! Love all the beautiful dark hair. What a stunner

As far as advice for for not sleeping and night and being fussy....I think that is pretty normal. Really you are lucky, some newborns are fussy all day too! If she likes her tummy, try laying her across your lap on her tummy and rubbing her back.

OMG KRISTA YOUR A MOMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She is beautiful I just love all her hair!!!! I'm glad nursing is going well and don't worry that pain will go away soonish. Are you co-sleeping??? Landen liked sleeping on his side before I started to co-sleep, and when I started co-sleeping he was fine on his back as long as I was next to him

If you consider one of us in the living room falling asleep with her on our chest, yes! But no, we are trying to get her to sleep in her bassinet in our bedroom. I'm beginning to think laying her on her belly is our only option. I'm going to ask the doctor about it tomorrow at her first appointment.

Yeah, actually it was! It is in the birth story, but the first time the nurse checked how dialated I was and she could actually feel Charlotte's head, she said we had a bald baby, just like daddy. The next time it was "well, maybe a little hair, but it feels like peach fuzz." When I was pushing and the nurse could see her head I got the "omg look at that hair!" I love her hair, it is so soft and shiny, it makes me jealous!

You will get some soon! I got a few professional pics done when a photographer came by at the hospital. I should be getting those soon and you know I'll post them.

Oh Krista, she's is so gorgeous!!! You both look so incredibly happy and in love with your little girl!

Breastfeeding was always pretty painful for me the first two weeks and even though they had great latches and everything my nipples still cracked and bled. But after those two weeks it was completely fine. This time was the only exception as I had zero pain nursing Lila, except for the contractions the first few days.
