Has anyone else ever thought...now why don't they make this for babies?

I came up with 2 or 3 ideas when Matthew was tiny. I remember two of them in particular.

1. SwaddleMe Straightjacket. Does anyone else struggle with all the swaddling devices? SwaddleMe, Miracle Blanket, etc? All of them are a pain in the butt to me! SwaddleMe Straightjacket looks like a baby gown but then the sleeves have velcro on them so you can simply attach babies arms down on his sides! No more having to struggle with baby's arms flailing around as you try to swaddle them OR the houdini baby who manages to poke their arms out 5 minutes later. Diaper changes are easy since you don't have to struggle to re-swaddle the baby each time! (I actually tried to make this with a gown of Matthew's and some velcro. I think it totally would have worked if I had better velcro.)

2. Hypercolor Diapers
Remember the Hypercolor shirts from the late 80s? This is a cloth diaper that changes color when baby pees in it! Tell me you wouldn't buy that!

And I just thought of another invention they NEED to make.

1. Electronic Breastfeeding friendly Bottles
The bottle would be electronic and would require baby to suck for several minutes before baby got a "letdown" of milk. Just like at the breast! It would also have a realistic nipple. Prevents breastfed babies from being able to guzzle down ounces and ounces of milk at a bottle feeding and minimizes confusion going between breast and bottle. The electronic part would snap into the bottle and would be removed before washing the bottle.

There was one more thing I thought of but I can't remember. So seriously someone needs to make these things.

Yeah the pampers swaddlers we got in the hospital had a yellow line that turned blue when wet.

-The Pampers Swaddlers are what I got the idea from. Not sure how practicle it would be though because after a certain amount of wash and wear the hypercolor shirts would stop working.

-I'd totally do the straightjacket idea if I was a sewing person.

-I tried to get my Dh to design the bottle but he said then if something happened and the electronics part got punctured and stuff got into the milk then you'd have a lawsuit on your hands!

So I'm more of an idea gal.

Dh actually did try to start his own business at one point, but it actually costs quite a bit of money if it's something you need to have comercially done, to get a prototype. I'm sure you could make some good money in the long run, but you'd need to invest up front and it might take awhile to actually make any money.

Do they still have that American Inventor show? That's what I need to do! They helped the people create their inventions and the best one actually got it marketed.
