Awwwwwww, it was the saddest thing i have ever seen! thank god i dont plan on vaccinating my kids! he was sooooo good right up until the needles went in, and then just hysterical. if it was my kid i would have been crying for sure.
now i have a question for you, is it true that all babies/kids develop an aversion to strangers? payne is really sociable, not overly so, like he will be a bit stand offish with strangers, but he wouldnt lose his mind if he was spoken to/held by a new person. i dont see him as being headed towards becoming a mama's baby, he seems like he is continually expanding his lttle baby horizons, but the doc told us that he WILL develop an aversion to strangers sooner or later....

Poor little guy! I don't look forward to Matthew's first shots. We plan to get some of them, but are delaying.
You know, I will say that Matthew is a social baby and there have only been a couple times when he was truly frightened of a stranger. I used to joke that he could go home with anyone and be just fine until he wanted some booby.
He does want me when he's upset and he doesn't like it if I leave him (like to go to another room) but he goes up to strangers, no problem. He walks up to people at the play area at the mall and will flirt with the women. Certainly not all babies are like that, but you never know! Payne might be another "people person".

Yeah, giving munchkins shots are MISERABLE. I make Andy do it!
Taylor got scared of new people a lot but Rylie's not like that at all.

i had never heard of ALL babies getting like that either......seemed like kind of a really broad generalization

Ugh shots suck!!!!!! Our pedi's office is amazing and 2 nurses do it at the exact same time and give him immediately to me to hold and nurse.
Although I thought it was pretty awesome that Nolan was screaming so loud until I scooped him up and he settled immediately. Then I nursed him and he was okay.....until about 3 hours later. *sobs remembering*

Stranger anxiety is pretty much hits all kids---How bad it is depends on the kid. London is very social still but I can tell he holds off a bit on some people here and there, with a very occasional freak out with someone (Aimee's mom! LOL) . I was told 10-18months is the normal time it kicks in, but it does go away for most.

Amara doesn't readily go with or chat with persons she isn't familiar with. She needs to "warm" up first. She has always been like this.

My kids have never had the stranger aversions, so I dont know. They've always been pretty laid back kids. Ive cried my fair share of shot sessions myself!!

Poor little guy. I remember those shot days all to well, Liam's still terrified of the doctors office because of it.
The boys each went through a little phase of being shy around people and Liam is still pretty stand-offish until he warms up. Lochy, who wouldn't let anyone but me hold him as a baby, will go up to and talk to ANYONE! He makes friends wherever he goes. Lila is pretty good about other people holding her, she hasn't freaked on anyone yet.
