nothing ever comes easily for me I swear...
I officially hate my life, and everything to do with this crap. I cannot believe this. I just called my RE's office (the new one) and told her I started my period and that they told me to call when I did so they could call in my clomid, and to let them know im going to do the CD3 b/w tomorrow (actually CD2 but its close enough) well they inform me that my old Dr never sent over my HSG films that the new RE wanted to take a look at and she wont prescribe me the clomid without that and the CD3 b/w....ummmm even if they had the HSG films...my b/w falls on a weekend so what would they have dont about that? im supposed to start clomid CD5-9. Why do i always get the ****** end of the stick. What the h.e.l.l. am i supposed to do. I started crying on the phone because i just cant believe this. Its NOTHING to these nurses..."oh we'll just have to wait until next cycle since we dont have that info yet" WAIT UNTIL NEXT CYCLE...does she not understand how hard it is to go a month without getting pregnant, let alone thinking your gonna get some more medical assistance finally and now have to try on your own for the THIRD month in a row? I literally cannot believe this. I almost want to go back to my old RE because i know I could say i want to do clomid this month with another IUI and they would do it. I dont know what to do. I am stuck. A family friend got me with this new dr and if I cut the ties like that it will just be weird, but she has to understand what im going through.

I don't understand, why are the films so important? And also, it's been two months, why in the heck hasn't the old RE sent over your information? If anything, it could go through by fax, right? I come on....even sent in the mail it would only take about 5 days and I would assume something like this would be sent via certified mail which brings the time down to 2-3 days.
I'm so sorry Ashley, I don't understand how these nurses can be so blase and insensitive to your situation. I mean, isn't it apart of their job to be sensitive even if they don't know what you're deal with? I don't understand what you're going through, but I understand your desire and desperation to get pregnant! And wouldn't the b/w tell them what they need to know anyway? So why not just bring you in for the b/w, review and then call in the clomid.
I'll admit, I'm extremely ignorant on this subject, I just don't know what it all entails, but I don't see how or why they are making it so much harder on you than it needs to be! Hugs Ashley!!!

I'm so sorry sweetie. You know, medical people can become numbed to the fact that what they deal with every day is life-changing to their patients. They see this all day long and probably worse. To them it's just another case like every other case. But to you, it's your LIFE.
I wonder if you can get on the phone with the old RE office and let them know how important it is that they get these films over to the new office. Maybe you could go pick them up and bring them over to the new office. After all, you are entitled to copies of your own medical files.
If all else fails, hope is not completely lost. There are people out there with those "I got pregnant the month before our IVF" or whatever stories. I know you had your heart set on clomid this month, but if you HAVE to delay, at least you aren't being asked to prevent or something... ya know? Sorry I know that isn't much help but I really hope you start to feel more empowered about this soon.

The RE doesn't do weekends?! Mine does....he says that a woman's cycle doesn't have banking hours. that's crap! I am so sorry you have to deal with that. it's not right at all. Do they not havef copies of any of your previous medical records to see that clomid isn't just a request on your part but needed?

How frusterating. I have a hard time understanding how this all works. So keep that in mind. But, can you try this cycle with your old doc and then go to the new doc next cycle if this one doesn't work out? And like Kyle suggested.. can you go pick up what is needed at your old docs so that you can get everything started this cycle with the new doc? I hope something works out for you this cycle because I can only imagine how awful it is to keep waiting.

I'm sorry Ashley, I wish they were a little more sensitive. Hopefully you can get your records to them. We all know how long "just another cycle" is. And I think it would be okay for you to cut ties with the new doc if you wanted, it isn't the business of the friends who referred you. It is your health and reproductive life, after all.

Thanks girls
Well, after alot of crying and demanding. My old RE finally directed me to where I need to go (last time I called about 4 weeks ago and said i needed my films sent to X address and that was it thank you good bye, well this time i talked to someone who said they dont even have the X-ray films I have to call radiology at the hospital and they'll print one off for me. Jason was so mad, he's like you tell them IM coming to get them today, and thats the end of it. Its ridiculous. So they have already printed it off and Jason is picking it up for me on his way home then I will go before work tomorrow and PERSONALLY drop it off to the lady I know at the new RE office. Then they told me as long as they get my b/w back by monday (i am doing the b/w saturday morning) that they will call in the clomid to my pharmacy and we can go ahead this cycle. Thank god. Still not out of the woods, hoping the b/w gets to them in a very timely manner, but im alot less worried about it than I was this morning.

The new RE is very thorough and she "isnt happy" with all the losses ive been through will no explanation really still yet. So she wants to take a look at my uterus (X-ray films) herself to make sure there is nothing wrong with it as far as shape and everything goes before going forward with Clomid. Because if there is something wrong with it, its kind of useless and doesnt treat the problem. My old RE said it looked perfect, but she doesnt go off of anyone elses' opinion. Which is really nice in general, just very upsetting when im going through all of this and the old dr didnt get them there so now its all rush rush. Yea, the old RE was told 4+ weeks ago to send them over, but it never happened.

Yea, I know...they do it everyday and its routine to them, when its life changing to me And thats exactly what we did...I called them up and told them i needed them TODAY I dont care what had to be done to get them.

Nope, my old RE doesnt do weekends at all..the new one is only open if your doing an IUI or an IVF transfer or egg retrieval. I hate that! Yea they have all of my other medical records and they know what im going through...she just wanted to make sure my uterus was okay structurally before prescribing Clomid, i know its okay unless my old RE is completely useless, which im starting to see he is

Yea, I could have I guess...but that bridge was burned when I asked for all my medical records. They were very weird about it and asked why I was going somewhere else and blah blah. And I stopped going to the old RE because I wasnt comfortable with them and felt they werent doing all they could to figure out the problem, and were just treating me like everyone else dealing with infertility, instead of someone dealing with infertility specifically miscarriage. It just felt like they had a "blanket" protocol for everyone.

Well, 1. It really pisses me off for you and Jason that you have to call the hospital and ask them to print off your films! That's ridiculous!!!! How the hell does the doctors office still not have them??? I mean seriously!!!! My OB still has her copies for Edward's ultrasounds in my file and that was almost 5 years ago, so this whole thing of no longer having your films is absolute BS!!!!
And 2. I didn't know exactly what the films were, so now I understand their importance! And your old RE is an ***** for having MORE than enough time to send this stuff over and has yet to do it and now you have to go out of your way to it yourself. That's a very unprofessional doctor's office!
Hugs Sweetie!
