after much thought, i have decided to go back on bcp when i go in for my annual in august. i am so over the horrible o pains and headaches and the long periods. i admit that i've only been having periods since like january or something, but they have not gotten any better. and the ovulation stuff is actually worse than af herself, so i think i'd just rather not ovulate since i am done w/ babymaking.

i don't 'need' to be on the pill any more, it's just what is best for me. i think the last triphasic i was on was yaz, but i'm not 100% sure since that was a while ago. just wondering if anyone had any recommendations and could share.

Sorry, I haven't been on BCP since I got pregnant on it 7 1/2 years ago.

I know what you mean about O pain though, it was so much worse for me after having kids than before! I hope you find a BCP that suits you!

The bcp that I really liked was Diane-35. It's not a triphasic though. I have always had trouble with mild acne, and this pill on its own is an acne treatment and did wonders for my complexion! Never had any problems with it: no weight gain, mood swings, spotting, ect.

ETA: I am currently on Cerazette, a progesterone only pill, and it sucks. I spot or bleed on more days than not.

I don't have any recommendations, but isn't Yaz being sued by some of the women taking it for some bad side effects they suffered? I don't remember the details, it just seems like I heard something like that.

There are other low dose alternatives I believe, if that is what you are going for.

I was on Yasmin for about 5 years and had no problems with it at all! It did the job! I switched to Sprintec for about a year before I got pregnant and it also worked really well and I had no issues with it.. I switched because Yasmin was too expensive since my insurance didn't cover BCP!

Yaz is under MAJOR investigations and lawsuits! I would stay away from it.
Since your not looking for it for BC since your done with kids I would go with a longer term like the implants.

My friend just picked up her Yaz script the other day and evidently the pharmacist warned her about the serious gallbladder side effects that women are experiencing. My friend actually does have gallbladder issues so she's trying to figure out what to do. Evidently there are quite a few lawsuits circulating at the moment over the whole thing.

gallbladder issues, blood clotting issues, heart attacks and strokes.....overall yaz is getting their butt sued off. Oh and some skin thing that I can't remember.
