the last few days (today is day 3) Bella has had a red bumpy pimple like rash on her bottom. We are using pampers with the dry max - could it be chemical burn? Ive never had this happen Even when Morgan had a yeast infection/diaper rash, hers was just red, not this bumpy! Its not too bad today, because Im slathering on the desitin, but if it gets bad again, Ill post a pic in the private forum.

here's an article about the dry max dipes with a picture of a chemical burn caused by them. the photo is actually from a child who's mama posts here on JM.
Pampers new Dry Max causing Severe Rashes : Dirty Diaper Laundry
Also, I thought you were planning on using cloth? Are you just waiting until she's a bit bigger or something?

I bet it's the Pampers Dry Max....Bethy have you heard about their big chemical burn results with the Pamper Dry Max dipes??? Let me find the article for you....
Okay, I've searched and search and searched...and this is the best article I could find...and I wouldn't say it's the best, but it has some background on the situation!
Moms claim new Pampers can cause severe rash in some children
One JM Mommy's Experience:

And Pamper trying to make cloth seem like a bad choice!

I really hope its not the Dry max, but I bet it is! As soon as I heard about this issue I emailed the link to my sis and she stopped using them right away! The picture scared me so I had to show her! And the whole dry max issue is what gave me the final push to use CD!!! I hope she is okay! Let us know if it gets better!

its not anything like that picture, so Im curious if shes allergic to the formula I gave her....and the poo irritated her skin, making it irritated because of the scent in the diaper as well. Gash! It could be a number of things!!

They are being investigated right now (pampers). There is some site/number or something you should call if she is having a reaction to them! PLEASE report it so the numbers are more accurate!

We switched to huggies since the dry max came out -- We never even tried them. I hate the way huggies fit on him but i rather huggies then chemical burns!

I believe they've been using the dry max stuff in ALL pampers. Even if it's not stated on the package.
To me it actually sounds like a sensitivity to her poop (something she ate). I know Dustin getst that whether in sposie or CD if he's in a dirty diaper for too long. His skin seems more sensitive then Curtis' was.
But I would NOT rule out pampers... if anything that could make the sensitivity worse.
Hope it clears up soon and stays away! Poor little girl!

Its slowly going away and shes almost out of this pack of diapers - its huggies for us from now on!! And I agree with you Steph, this seems like something she ate. Shes been super fussy when nursing, but formula tends to calm her down now I just dont know where Im going with this whole fiasco

I bet its the formula. When I had surgery my friend who watched Landen gave him formula and he got a rash that sounds like the one Bella has.
