Fast forward to minute mark 5:50 and listen to this dumb mass talk about breastfeeding.

If you'd like her e-mail, as I'm sure you will after you listen to this...

What a dumb b!tch. She admits that the woman had NOTHING showing, and then says that it should be considered public indecency? How, if the woman has nothing showing? Ohh yes, I would love to go feed my child where people take a dump, because I would love to eat in a bathroom myself, so why don't I make sure THIS woman is comfortable and make myself and my child uncomfortable.

And THEN, why doesn't she just feed her baby while they are driving there? Umm, maybe because it is illegal to take a baby out of their carseat while the car is moving, and my breasts aren't large enough for me to lean over and nurse in the carseat.

Wow. What a complete idiot.

That does make me really mad actually. I didn't think it would make me as mad as it did. I have a semi-for public breast feeding stance, but sorta not. Its my view that if you can be covered while you breast feed, so no exposure, thats fine... but you have a type of breast that will be exposed and show half your torso and breast when you breastfeed, you should use a blanket. But wow, this woman is pissing me off. Stay home until your child is exclusively on solids?!? Oh god!

I can't even listen to it. I'm so angry over crap said yesterday at work about us pumping mommies, that my my ears are still red and hot. Then another chick at work yesterday was talking crap about a girl laboring a long time and pushing for 5 hours....how it should be criminal to "put your baby in danger like that", and that every should AUTOMATICALLY be sectioned if a baby doesn't come out after one hour of pushing.
Sorry to thread hijack Shannon, I'm just still royally pissed off at some of the ignorant people I work with.

Just sent her an email! Blood boiling is an understatement!

Yes, staying in my house 24/7 until my child has weaned is a fantastic idea--see ya in 2 years!

i sometimes forget that the world isnt the accepting place that JM is in terms of pregnancy/birth/bf... i saw a lady walking yesterday with her toddler while BF her baby under a cover and i thought GO MOM! maybe my neighbourhood will be ok with BF. I am personally not going to use a cover (well i dont plan to), because i get really claustrophobic with things over my head (i freak) and i couldnt do that to my baby. but thats just me, cuz i have the phobia!

i couldnt finish listening to that woman's rant either but i'm guessing she didnt say anything to the mother in question. i plan to have a reserve of snappy comebacks ready for when i NIP, i'm kinda excited to use them lol even though i hope i dont need to.

and nikki cant believe your coworkers are so narrowminded......*hugs* you are such an awesome mom, try not to worry about what they think! i'm also glad your patients have a nurse on their side in terms of them having natural labours, however many hours of pushing that may mean.

Grrr. And I don't even usually get that fired up over nursing in public. That woman is an idiot. She really thinks people should nurse in a bathroom? I almost never nursed in public but I never did that!! And it was easy for me to pump and bring a bottle but she acts like it's easy for everybody and it's not. And she kept saying that we needed to "use common sense" and not nurse in public...but where's her common sense?

Oh. My. God.

I can't even handle it right now!

Also I am not all the way into it, but the first dude is NOT agreeing with her! LOVE IT! You hear him giving her hell? AWESOME.

"Maybe you should've gone to a different restaurant!" YES YES YES. I would like to see THIS woman go eat her sandwich while sitting on a dirty toilet in a hot, smelly bathroom. Stupid C WORD!

AND she DIDN'T EVEN NURSE HER OWN KIDS. WHAT?!!?!?!?!? So she has absolutely NO IDEA what nursing is like.

I know, right? My DD nursed every 45 minutes-1 hour until she was 10 MONTHS OLD, when I had finally had enough and cut her back. I guess I should have NEVER left my house for that first 10 months.

I told her in my e-mail that I think she should go sit in the bathroom and eat her food next time she sees a woman nursing in a resturaunt so that we can all be spared her public ignorance. I really hope she takes the advice.

This lady is an idiot! She contradicted herself twice. First she said the lady should have nursed on the way there, then said she would never say something like that... ummm roll the tape lady, you did. Then she said there should be public indecency laws for BFing in public and, while she didn't deny that she said it, she retracted that statement as well. She clearly has a well formed argument against breastfeeding (sarcasm there). At least her cohost had the balls to tell her how she was contradicting herself!

It is a shame that this lady is in a position to sway public opinion. You would think she would have some social responsibility. And she talks about nursing mothers not having common sense.

Oh and I just love that most of her callers disagreed with her! That is awesome! I am glad to hear that kind of public opinion. And she, like most shock jocks, cut them off when they have valid points and wrote them off with the phrase "and you are entitled to your opinion". Right. "That's your opinion" isn't a very valid argument in a debate. Clearly she had no rebuttal.
