What kind of Mattress do you have for your LO? Cambria's was an older one that was given to us and It's more firm. When we went to register I just picked one and didn't look at the reviews. Well my SIL told me she got the same one but returned it cause basically when you put the baby down the baby sink's in cause it's so soft. Thats kinda scary! Of course DH bought the mattress and now we just got it and set it up. It's SUPER soft!!!! I was told to even switch Cambria's for the new baby but If she lays on her belly to sleep She sink's down too. So I was just wondering what you have? Is It soft or firm? What do you like or not like about it? This is the link to the one I got...just so no one gets it!!

We have:
Naturepedic Organic Baby Crib and Toddler Bed Mattress - Classic 252 - Naturepedic - Toys "R" Us
Its super firm and very comfy and safe!
The only thing I dislike is it has a VERY tight fit to the crib. I have to take out the mattress to change the sheets.

Jax's is very firm. He doesn't sink into it at all, which is great because he sleeps on his belly. It's one that is all foam (no springs) and is supposed to be good for letting CO2 pass through.

I don't remember exactly what we have--it has been about 5 years since we bought it! I know its a Simmons though and firm. We're setting up the crib this week for Lila so I'll be able to use it again--it has served us very well through the boys.

I got a lifekind organic mattress. It retails for around $500 and it's only available online to buy. Luckily I found someone local that sold it to us who never used it because they ended up co-sleeping. I'd say it's firm. In the long run it didn't matter because Oliver has always co-sleep on our bed which has a pillow top. He had no problems with it ever. If you are worried I'd put Cambria on the softer new mattress. I don't see a problem with her sinking in a little.

This is bad of me but I don't know. I just got the one that came with her crib. Amara would never sleep on it well when it had that protective plastic/vinyl cover so I ripped it off and bought a quilted cover and she's not had any problems since.

hmmm not to sure what kinds they are but both boys are using crib mattresses. Curtis' toddler bed takes a crib mattress. They are relatively firm but Curtis' is softer.
I think I would just give Cambria the softer one and put the firmer one in for baby.

I was just gonna give her the softer one but it's so soft even for her when she lays on it she sinks in. And she's a belly sleeper so Im afraid she's put her face down and it would over lap around her. I mean I know she know's how to move out of a situation but it still worries me.

Can you take the soft mattress back? Maybe take it back and get a different one.
I got an organic mattress online and it is softer than the ones I felt in stores. But it doesn't sink when Matthew lays on it so I guess it's firm enough.

Lily has a Simmons and Violet has a Naturepedic. Both are firm and I highly recommend either company.
If you don't feel comfortable using this mattress even for Cambria, take it back. Mommy Intuition knows best and if you're worried about it, don't risk it!

I don't know what kind of matress we have for Lorena. It is VERY firm, though. We put a memory foam matress topper on it because it was obviously uncomfy and it is STILL firm. It doesn't really matter much, though, since she sleeps with us still.

Brayden had a serta I think as a baby, and then when I moved him to a twin bed he has a pillow top mattress. I'd lay Cambria on the other mattress maybe for naptime with you right there to see how far down she goes.

Could hubby do it for you? Or a family member or friend? There is no way I would do that myself with being pregnant and having the boys! haha. Definately get someone else too! How long do you have to do an exchange?

I'd take it back then. It sounds really soft. I never seen one that lets a child sink in like that. Maybe take it back when you have David or a friend to help? What a hassle.

Well David put it in my car so I guess Ill be doing it.I wish I could have help with stuff but our families are about 30 mins from us and David's mom doesn't drive freeways and my mom Is In Iowa right now. Ill just go there and leave it in my car and have the people do it. And I agree with you on sheet changing! PITA!! I hate having to do it. David has NEVER done it so I dont even think he'd know what to do! He gets away with not doing much I tell ya!

I used to loathe sheet changes, too. That's why I bought this crib: Quick Change Crib. It ROCKS!
