I know someone posted a Cloth Diapers thread a while ago (Rachel?) but I can't find it.

I would like to know how many cloth diapers I'm going to need for the first 6 months or so.

I have already purchased 5x AI2's with 10 inserts (I think that is what they are - will post images when they arrive). They are 'one size fits all' with the little clippy thingies to make them smaller or larger.

I'm also planning on buying a 'Starter Pack' that will have:
18 bleached 4x6x4 prefolds
Two Bummis Super Brite Wraps
One Bummis Super Whisper Wrap
One Snazzipants Velour Fleece Cover
One snappi

I can get that pack in either 'Newborn' or 'Small' size - which would you recommend?

I've never CDd a newborn, but remember you will always need more than you think. Henry averaged about 12 dipe changes a day. Also I don't use Snappies but I would get at least another one of those as well.

The AI2s that are OS. Does it actually list the weight limits? MOST OS dipes don't fit newborns.

I don't think I'll cloth diaper bubs for the first month or so, I just want to get my head around being a mother first!! That is why I was going to get the prefolds as well (maybe in newborn size).

The AI2's did have a weight on them, but now I can't remember what it was!! D*mn preggo brain... something like 4kg's to 17kg's or something? Newborn to potty training, although I did think they were too big for newborn...

I just now started cding Bella, I have 32 nb prefolds, and about 8 pocket diapers that i use the prefolds as inserts for now till i can make some. I have enough prefolds and diapers to fully cd a nb for just about 3 days.

I would skip the newborn prefolds, especially if you don't plan on CDing the first month or two. I got prefolds and AI2s and I wish my whole stash was AI2s. Although I do like to use the prefolds on the changing pad under her butt for when she pees/poos while I'm changing her. Very handy.

Also, expect the one size stuff to be very big on the baby in the beginning. Usable, but goofy looking.

We still haven't gotten our CDing groove down 100%, so I'm a little shaky on the numbers. If you don't plan on CDing right away and are going to use a few sposies anyway, why don't you just get what you think is the bare minimum you need, and if you need more you can always order them.
