She would latch on every single flipping time weather I had milk or not. Now that my supply is back up where it should be...shes SCREAMING bloody freaking murder.
Ive failed.
I know there are ways of getting her back, but in all honesty, how long will it take? 2 days of both of us insanly crying? I would give up my first born (ha...) to nurse again. I screwed all this crap up and now Im reaping what I sewed.
EP sounds like my only option...
sorry, vent over...

Hmm...have you taken her to the doctor?? She might have an ear infection which would cause this kind of reaction to the different positions. It would seem odd that he get an ear infection so early, but, gosh, you never know!!! She doesn't have any problem with a bottle though right? Could your let down be too much for her??? Have you tried pumping a bit before she nurses and then try to get her latched??? I'm trying to think about what might help you....Before you get her to the breast, do you express some milk so there is a few drops of milk around the nipple to entice her to latch??

I'm sorry it's not working out for the two of you. Is she latching on and then screaming? It could be she is getting upset if you let down is fast.

at this point shes not even trying. Ive squirted many streams of milk into her mouth and she just keeps on crying. shes fine with the bottle. of course, who wouldnt be? Im calling around to see if I can find one of thoes syringes with the tubeing attached...colostrum feeders I think their called. Im NOT ready to throw in the towel but I am REALLY wanting to make her happy at the same time...maybe she just doesnt realize its back full force? Ill try to pump and then latch her on. Im thinking that If I can get really full again to where Im leaking (good luck with that right lol) that shell just realize and latch on. this is so frustraiting

Have you tried feeding her when she's not hungry. Like wait an hour before her next feeding when she's more content and then latch her on, it may be less frustrating for the both of you that way.
Sorry its not going to well. And you didnt fail. If thats the case most of these mothers in the world are failures. As long as Bella is eating BM or FF, you're not a failure.

I can't say I understand the frustration you are going through, as I have not experienced it before, but I am so very sorry you are going through this. You are not a failure, I am sure any mothers instinct would be to do what makes their baby stop crying. Stay strong, momma. I hope you can get this all worked out!

Ugh, that is the worst. Jenna does this occasionally if she's had the bottle for a couple feedings in a row. When she does do it, it is always at her before bed feeding...when she is the most hungry and tired.
It is so miserable. She will take 2 sucks, realize no milk it coming like it does in the bottle, then start SCREAMING.
When she does do this, I had her off to DH..he walks for around a bit to calm her down, then we get a bottle ready. I put her back to my breast (which restarts the screaming), with DH right next to me. He will put the bottle in her mouth, let her suck a couple times, then takes it out quickly and I replace it with the boob.
This seems to 'trick' her into sucking enough to stimulate my let down. If I can get her calmed down enough to suck and stimulate let down, all is good.

I went and saw a LC that gave me a $7 nipple shield and said I wasnt pumping enough. put me on a pumping schedule rather than BABY COMES FIRST! routine, KWIM? "its ok if baby wants to nurse but you need to pump right after!" ok, I can do this, but what do I do about her screaming at the breast? "well lets try a nipple shield" so we tried it but she would only latch on if formula was involved. *****! So now Im to use the nipple shield because shes use to the nipple of the bottle and my flow isnt fast enough.
WHERE THE CRAP DID MY BABY GO?!
She nursed JUST FINE till yesterday afternoon, never cared about my milk supply, well she whined but I could always get her to relatch on. Its like something in her mind like snapped and shes having an out of body experience.
So I pump every 3 hours, with an allowance of 5 hours at night to bring in my supply. Put her to breast before I pump, with the shield and drops of formula to keep her interested and see if we can get her sucking longer and longer. Im REALLY hoping to be done power pumping by this next weekend coming up (not this weekend) because were going camping and I want her 95% BF by then...
At least she latched on at the LC appointment...

Wanna know what I did when we could go from bottle to breast: I took the little itty bitty nipples and put really tiny holes in them so he had to suck the dickens outta the bottle...he'd get so frustrated that he'd give up and that made breastfeeding easier than getting it from the bottle. It took about 2 days of him being not a happy camper but he got fed up with trying. And we were exclusively breastfed from then on. LOL to the point he didn't want solids until 9m when it was forced lol and I thought he was gonna be nursing at his high school graduation LOL!

I never had a problem with him dropping the bottle. He couldn't latch on at all....I had to teach him to latch. He couldn't suck, he had to be taught.....long process and I had no help. LC came one time, pedi said it was useless to try anymore. I ended up nursing for 3 years!

I did this with Liam--used preemie flow nipples. Also, I have a breastflow bottle I'll use for Lila and its wonderful--she doesn't get the milk right away and has to work for it because of the design of the bottle/nipple.
I was down this road when Liam was a baby, just hang in there, you can do it! If we could get rid of the formula with my crap supply you can do it too!!!
