I just got back from Labor and delivery. The baby hadn't been moving much and I was concerned. On top of that I woke up with some blood dripping this morning so we went in. Baby looks fine. They didn't do any ultrasound just monitored and checked my cervix. They said my cervix is soft and I'm about 1 cm dilated. Anyway, I'm going back to bed. The baby is good and I feel stupid for being concerned. I don't even want to see the bill.

Ditto with the running out of room. But here is a little "home-test" for if baby is ok. get in your tub and have the room very quiet. Once your nice and relaxed drop your metal razor (or something metal like) on the edge of the tub... baby usually jerks because they are startled. I did it every day while I was in the tub at the end because the little stinker slowed down alot.
some babies don't startle easily so this test isn't full proof (OBVIOUSLY LOL) but its better than chugging sugar to get them moving. lol

The doctor seemed concerned and told us to head over there. I'm not going to question what the ask me to do. I'm happy everything is ok and everything.

Don't feel stupid, you made the right decision! I mean, what if something was going on? Certainly wouldn't have felt stupid then.

I'm glad everything is okay.

Oh, and do you have insurance? If so I wouldn't worry too much about the bill. I paid less than $400 total out of pocket in hospital bills to actually have my baby, two night stay and epi charges included (not including charges from my doctor to deliver... that was separate and wrapped up with prenatal care). So hopefully you will be pleasantly surprised! You went to just L&D and not the ER, right?

Don't feel sill at all. Never doubt your mother's intuition or instinct. If you feel as though something's odd then get checked.

I'm happy everything is alright.

We have health insurance. I'm just surprised how much stuff is sometimes. And her heart rate was low, especially for her when we first got there. The nurse made sure to let me know I was doing the right thing, and always listen to my gut. Too many times they hear a mother say I felt like something was wrong yesterday and its too late to help them.Guy was just excited he got to hear the baby's heart beat.

Currently losing my mucous plug for those of you interested.

Pretty much everything is ready for her. The nursery isn't ready but I think its going to be a work in progress anyway.
