I lost 6lbs in the beginning because I was so sick, so I didn't actually start gaining untill the middle/end of the 2nd trimester and now I'm up almost 30lbs I've been gaining a lot lately, but I can't stop eating!!! haha

Don't be too anxious for it to come! Those were my famous last words at 17ish weeks after Christmas. I couldn't believe I still hadn't gained much weight especially after the pig out I did over the holiday. A week after New Years I gained 5 lbs in a few days! It only went up from there. I think I gained 30 lbs total.

I didn't gain at the beginning, then I gained a ton when the nausea went away - which also coincided with a 2 week trip to visit family in NC so I ate a LOT of southern foods. Then I gained a pound here and a pound there...lost weight towards the end and got yelled at....and then when I when I got close to the end I ate a ton of red velvet cupcakes and gained more, hahahaha.

It will come, I promise! I had gained about 3 lbs at 13 weeks (at my NT scan). In the end, I had gained 50 lbs when I delivered at 35 weeks!!! No swelling either, so it wasn't fluid retention. Yikes!

You startled me when I saw 3rd trimester. I'll blame that on the preggo brain. I think you'll start gaining slowly soon.

With my first, I had a big problem gaining weight.. When I was towards the end of the second trimester, the doctors were getting concerned.. I was eating like a horse too.. Then when I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes at 28 weeks, weight gain wasn't an issue anymore.. lol I only gained 5 lbs with my first trimester and lost it all when my daughter was born and she was a 6 pound baby..

whoops yeah i totally meant 2nd....sorry bout that! preggo brain has been in effect for a while now.
jessie you were soooooooo skinny, u probably needed to gain extra, thats what happened with my SIL too, she gained the same amount you did.
ok and another preggo brain moment, i cannot remember Adriana's mommys real name!! *bangs head on wall* --- anyways i'm concerned about GD cause apparently my mom had it when she was preggo with me and my sis (around the same age i am now), i get super hungry lately, and frequently and if i dont eat i get shaky and ultra irritable, and a bit dizzy. but that could just be normal too.....i'm trying to eat healthy foods but it doesnt always happen either.
i am relieved that a lot of ppl didnt really gain in the first tri... i guess i was just suprised that i hadnt because i assumed that i had gained a few lbs at least.

My m/w told me most people gain less than 5lbs the first tri, and its more common to lose some!
I put on a total of 16 lbs (from pre-preggo wt to end wt, I did lose 11lbs that first trimester so in a way I put on 27lbs if you look at it that way).
I ate very healthy in the beginning..... THEN I ate On AVERAGE--
McDonald's 3-4 times a week, KFC 1-2 times a week. A normal McDonalds trip would be a Big Mac, McChicken, 2 lrg fries, lrg coke, hot fudge sundae!!!!! I was expecting to put on 80lbs the way I ate.
Funny thing though-- I STILL eat like crap and eat a ton due to BFing and I'm now 20lbs BELOW my PRE-Pregnancy wt. My Dr has been checking my thyroid and BS because of the amount I eat and lack of wt gain---he says thats not normal. I'm that weird girl.
*crosses fingers that I don't make up for it in the next one*

I didn't gain hardly any weight with Lochy or Lila. I didn't get back to pre-pregnancy weight with either of them until I was around 24 weeks or so. I gained 14lbs total with Loch and he was a very healthy 8lbs 5oz and I gained 13lbs with Lila and she was a very healthy 8lbs 14oz.

I'm 15 weeks tomorrow and I've already put on like 6kg! I was very thin though, so I guess my body just needs that extra weight.

I started gaining weight almost as soon as I found out I was pregnant. I had gained about 35 lbs by 28 weeks, at which point my OB/GYN told DH that he needed to take me to a salad bar and for a nightly walk, and not to expect me to get back down to 118 quickly. He also told him to stop feeding me "greasies". But, I continued to eat my donuts and hamburgers, and I gained another 15 lbs by the time she was born at 38+2. I was down to 130 within 2 weeks of having DD and now am at my ideal weight of 125. Sooo, take that Mr. Doctor!

I stopped looking at the scale after it tipped 170. I think the morning I had J.J i was about 172. I started at 128 before IVF. Now I am 135-136.
