What a day yesterday was!
It was about 100 degrees here (literally) with a heat index of 110. We had an outside party We managed even with my 86 year old grandfather and 87 year old great uncle.
It was a lot of fun! We had the pool for the kids and lots of food. We decided to go inside for presents and dessert instead. Too hot!
J.J raked in the presents! He got a car, a tricycle, A bubble lawn mower, a "gum ball machine", and some other fun toys!
Of course we gave him a piece of cake. We skipped the smash cake since he has a dairy issue. We gave him mylicon afterwords. He was still tooting up a storm all night. He slept SO well last night though -- 6pm-5:30am, and then till 7 after a bottle. We just switched him to alimentum formula -- amazing. ZERO congestion. So we know we have a soy AND dairy issue. We see the allergist Thursday.
Today was spent setting up an area in the living room for J.J's toys. He bought himself a toy box with some of his birthday money (he got about 275 dollars and a 50 dollar savings bond too!)
Pictures!
Cake I made J.J

(He LOVED this monkey -- it sung happy birthday to you, you live in a zoo, you look like a monkey and you smell like one too! And he laughed hysterically!)

He's such a cutie pie!! Loved the pics and he looked like he had loads of fun.
-----
I did a lot of reading when Amara first reacted to cow's milk (though she's not lactose intolerant) and found a lot of articles mentioning that a lot of persons are intolerant to dairy are also intolerant to soy. I found that interesting because here once you react to dairy, they almost force you to use soy. With Amara, I refused the soy and decided to try goat's milk first and that worked.

We are probably going with goat's milk now that he is 1. He needs something with fat in it and rice milk has ZERO. We just want to see what the allergist has to say first (alimentum is SO expensive)

Goat milk in powdered form is a tad expensive. Can't really get goat milk around here
