So the scan went well & they were able to measure the NT and it was 1, so that is good! My baby was all cuddled up resting on its back on the left side of my uterus so there was a lot of jabbing mum with the ultrasound stick, coughing and belly dancing to try to get it to lift up a little so they could make the measurement. My MIL was completely miserable the whole time, just complaining and being utterly negative and really it seemed trying to ruin my joy. Needless to say, in retrospect, it would have been better if she didnt' come. But i guess i had no way of knowing she'd be in such a foul mood. She actually felt the need to tell the sonographer about how one of her baby's had the cord around the neck - NOT RELEVANT LADY! if i hear about that cord around the neck one more time i'm goin to looooooooooooose it! ok rant over. i love my baby and i think its the cutest thing i have ever seen in the world and i cannot even believe that it is in there chilling out and looking like a tiny human!!!

Yeah MIL sucks.
But don't you just feel over the moon? I think it's so amazing, that first sonogram when you can see little arm/leg buds. Resting alittle easier?

they ARE little hands!!! or little handie poos as i like to call them!
funny story, dh thought the hand was the nose and he kept saying "is our baby like ALL nose?" and "look at the beak on it!"....i told him i think his little nose is cute! then when he got home i showed him the actual scans (i had emailed him the pics in the OP there) and he was like ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I GET IT!

Awww, so cute! You must be so relieved!
MIL's are a pain in the rear, so just ignore her negativity! You have every right to be excited and happy and she shouldn't try to ruin that for you!

Aw, what a cute wee baby you have in there! I can't wait to find out what you're having!!!
And boo on your MIL--sounds like we have the same one. Mine kept asking me starting at like 28 weeks how did I really know the cord wasn't around Liam's neck strangling him. Really? That's the conversation you want to have with me? MILs suck big hairy ones!
Oh and tons of babies are born with the cord around the neck. The ob/midwife just slides it off before the rest of the baby is delivered, no big deal, just ask Lochy!

yeah i tried telling her like 1 in 3 babies have the cord around the neck and i think it just went in one ear and out the other. she thinks its some kind of birth defect!

Sucky about MIL but I'm glad you could shrug her off and focus on your little beautiful baby!!!
