Matthew's first haircut (plus siggy request)

I decided I couldn't put it off any longer...my boy's hair was really too long and he was overdue for a haircut. So I forced myself to take him today! What's funny is that I finally worked up to do it and then Dh was starting to chicken out.

Without further ado: Here are the two pics I think I'd like a siggy of. Just something really simple, the two pics side by side labeled "before" and "after" and Matthew's first haircut. I want to put it up on facebook for my family to see so whoever can get to it first I'd really, really appreciate it.

My what a pretty girl, oh ummm, boy!

The big cut: He did well with it. A few fussy moments but he was getting tired, we had a wait a long time b/c there were lots of kids getting back to school cuts. No crying anyway, so better than the other babies we saw getting their hair cuts!

All done!

And because we are either crazy or stupid, we trimmed the front a bit more when we got home. Thankfully it ended well. Again, it was hard to get good pics even though I took a ton (I hate this camera it doesn't focus well) plus Matthew was tired. I'll have to get more after pictures in the next few days for posterity.

Look Ma! No mullet!

I've got one of his curls in a little baggy. I'm sad because I know I will never be able to run my fingers through his long silky hair again.

He looks cute with and without his locks.

I'm jealous of his hair color though.

awe super cute!!!! They always looks so much older when you get them their first hair cut! I need to get Dustin's done.

Ian's first hair cut was at 4 months old - I shed a few tears. Still have his curls in a little container in the cubby of my headboard :-/ bittersweet but I was SO glad to have people NOT call him a girl!!! Matthew looks handsome!!!

Actually it's not so bad, I'm just going to miss running my fingers through his hair, haha. I actually thought about saying I wasn't going to get his hair cut till I got pregnant again, but that would have been a bad idea.

I think my baby fever would be worse by other milestones like if he weaned which isn't gonna happen I dont think. (by the way 99% sure it's the dairy giving him problems so he def needs to keep nursing, need to update the other thread). He's still my baby even if he has a big boy haircut.

I just need a girl next time so I can have a kid that keeps their long hair.

I love how hair cuts change the look of them.. My little guy got his first hair cut at 3 months old.. I know if I didn't cut it, he would have super long hair.. His hair grows super fast, just like DH.. It's a pain!

Awww, from baby face to big boy! I would definitely have been crying, too! It's hard when our little ones reach milestones, I get very emotional. Milestones and "firsts" are about ten times harder when it's your last baby, at least that's how I felt back when I thought for sure Vivi was our last.
