I have had the resources and knowledge to convince Chris to be on board with me exclusively bfing for as long as baby desires, we will CD, we will baby wear, and we will use a convertible carseat in the rear facing position for as long as possible.. without question longer than a year. (bringing him to BRU this weekend to show him the wraps and carseats helped too!)

I know these choices are not for every one, but being on this board has allowed me to become more prepared and to make better decisions for the future of mine and Chris' children.

Its a good thing we have a while to decide on sleeping arrangements, discipline, vax schedules and circumcision!

Just wanted to say thanks! you guys!

awesome It's nice seeing a "different" way of parenting

It's also awesome that you are discussing things now! Me and James talked alot about kids and even though there are things that we didn't discuss and some situations we weren't prepared for... it's nice to know we are on the same page on the main level ya know? Also some things changed that we agreed on but atleast we were on the same page when changing them!

^ I'm sure all that didn't make any sense... ahh well.

That's awesome! I'm glad you were able to get Chris on board with everything. I also have this board to thank for opening my eyes to alternative parenting choices.

Yay! I'm with ya! My family has always cloth diapered and exclusively breastfed. But we were always looked at as a little weird. Its nice getting reinforcement, telling me its not only 'ok' but great for baby!

I share your sentiments and I'm so happy that you were able to get your husband on board in making decisions that you fell comfortable with for raising your little one.

This board, well JM in general, was a real eye opener for me. I learnt so much here and did things that I use to say I would never do. It really made me aware of all the different options and helped me decide on the ones that were best for me and my child.

While these 'alternative' ways of doing things may not be for everyone... what's great is that JM has made many women realize that they actually have a choice, and has gotten them to question WHY they do the things they do. I always assumed I would breastfeed, but now I know so much more about it, kwim? JM can be really great for that!

Glad you a nd Chris are talking about this stuff and on the same page!

It's great you guys are on the same page! I feel the same way. I never would have thought twice about breastfeeding, co-sleeping, baby wearing, or cloth diapering and all these things have made parenting such a joy and much easier. The only thing that took a little convincing for Andy was cloth diapering and we're struggling with that right now so for we're taking a break for a little bit LoL!
