What time do they take their nap at? Where do they nap and for how long? How do you get them to nap??? HELP! My sweet baby Landen has refused to nap and then will fall asleep at 6 pm or even later because he can't stay up. Problem with that is he will only sleep for 3 or 4 hours and then wake up. Even if he falls to sleep at 8pm he WILL be up to play before 10. Then wont fall asleep for the night until 2am. Its sucks. Every time I get him to wake up at a normal time and nap then sleep good the next day we are back to the crappy schedule.

Dustin naps around 12. For about an hour. He wakes up around 7:30 and goes to sleep around 8:00. I just stick him in his crib and he fusses until he falls asleep.

Curtis stopped his naps I think around 2. He would nap but then night times were horrific. He wouldn't go to sleep. Even now if he sleeps even for a few mins he wont go to sleep well at night at all. There was a huge struggle cause at first when I was trying to figure out a schedule he would fall asleep before or around dinner... just like you were saying. I stuck it out though. Soon enough he just put all his sleep needs into night.

haha! Everyone will think my answer is nuts! Oliver takes his nap usually around Noon. He will sleep from 1-3 hours. 2 being the average length. I sit with him on the sofa while he nurses to sleep. It usually only takes 5 mins to get him to fall asleep. Sometimes he will try to get up or monkey around but I hold him in my arms and don't let him get down. Then I carry him to our bed and lay down with him. He usually nurses in his sleep for most of the time. If I want I can sneak away if he unlatches without waking up to relatch. It works for us and I have time to rest, surf the net, or watch some TV/Movie.

Ian and Morgan are about to not take them anymore (sad, Ian's almost 5 and takes naps LOL) Usually I just have to go in and remind them to lay down and be quiet, and normally they pass out. Not sure why hes waking up in the middle of the night. maybe growing pains wake him up? Have you tried feeding him right before bed?

I wanted to add that I try to get Oliver to sleep 5 hours after he wakes up in the morning. Sometimes it will be 6 hours after waking up depending on what we are doing that day. Then he needs to be awake for 5-6 hours before he is tired enough for bedtime.

Does Landen have to nurse to sleep still? Do you still sleep with him? You might want to try my way if your not trying to break him from those kinds of habits.

Nap time for both my kids is at 2 and I get them up at 4, if they don't wake up earlier. Rylie always sleeps but Taylor, like today, may not but it's still "quiet time" and she doesn't come out of her room until 4. Taylor knows what nap/quiet time is and I just take her in her room. Rylie fusses when I lay her in her crib for 5-10 mins but eventually falls asleep

Well lately he has been flip flopping between 2 naps and a late bedtime or 1 nap and an early bedtime. If it's a 1 nap day, it starts anywhere from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 pm and he sleeps an hour and a half most of the time. Then bedtime maybe 7:00-8:00. His bedtime varies a lot. My issue is that, whether he goes to bed late or early or whatever I do with his naps, probably 75% of the time, he wakes at some point in the night/early morning and cries, I go in and nurse him, lay him down awake, turn on seahorse just like I do for naps and bedtime but he doesn't go back to sleep! He wiggles and babbles in his crib for an hour or sometimes even 2 hours! Then eventually he goes back to sleep. I really don't get it. It's like baby insomnia or something b/c I know he is still tired and needs to go back to sleep but it takes him foreeeeeever to do it.

Thanks for the responses!!! I think my biggest problem is I need to set a time for him to nap and a bed time. I normally wait for him to act/look sleepy and that's when I try. When he does nap its normally for 3-4 hours (he plays HARD lol) and he sleeps about 9 hours straight through the night. But you know that is if he naps normal. I miss when he would take 2 short naps during the day. He was on a great schedule until daddy came home, then as soon as he got used to that we moved and its just been down hill from there.

Resi he does still nurse to sleep most of the time and we still co-sleep at night and I don't plan on stopping that for awhile. Naps (when he takes them) are normally on the couch. I don't think your a nut lol! What you said is pretty much how I did it until a few months ago when he stopped nursing in his sleep.

I think I am going to attempt to wake him up at 8am tomorrow then force him (bwahahaha) to nap around 12-1pm he will most likely nap 3 to 4 hours so I will put him to bed at 10pm. If I put him to bed any early he wont get to see dad at all... and I would really not like to get up before 8 unless I have too Haha!!

Henry wakes between 5:30-6:30am. I usually put him down for nap between 11-12pm depending on if he's super tired or not. He naps for at least 2 hours. Oh and bedtime is 7pm.

Amara will usually nap anywhere between 10am and 12pm and she'll sleep for 1 - 2.5 hours. She'll sleep in her crib or playpen (by MIL).

She wakes around 5:30am and goes to bed around 7:30 - 8:00pm.
