So we finally got word...

JJ has mono

Yes, that's right. My ONE year old has the kissing disease

He got it from........

........me

I had mono in 2001 and ended up with Epstein-Barr. Since J.J LOVES putting pacifiers in my mouth, well, tada!

His fever FINALLY broke today after 5 days of 103.

He is eating a little better as well.

He lost 2 pounds from everything

But he is getting better

Oh no!! Poor guy!! I had mono when I was 15 and it was AWFUL. I can't imagine a 1 year old having it I'm glad his fever broke and I sure hope he is feeling better!

Was it hard on you too, mama? Even when Reid has a simple cold he is so fussy and difficult

Oh wow! I didn't know they could still get it after so long. I had mono in 2001 as well and it was awful. I can't imagine a little one having it too. I hope he feels better soon!

Poor JJ... his doctor folder must be so thick... poor kid gets everything! I'm glad things are getting better now... 2 pound weight loss seems like an awful lot! I've never had mono... I thought it lasted a really long time? Like weeks?

ETA: Are you going out of town soon? I thought I saw that on your FB!

I am out of town I have been in Orlando since Thursday :-) DH has been taking care of J.J so I can get a mommycation.

Because I also have Epstein-Barr can cause mono in those who have never had it. I can transmit the disease to anyone who has never had mono. When I had mono I had a 105 fever for 10 days and landed myself in the hospital with a swollen shut throat (my glands got so swollen I could not breath).

We are 2nd day fever free and he is eating lots. We have to feed him fatty foods for the next few weeks to get the weight back on him
