was a total success!!!! So you know I'm a hard a.s.s mom and I decided that the paci had to go - she's 14 months now and getting more and more teeth and I just hated always having to remember to pack it or bring it if she was gonna nap while we were out or whatever...she's a big girl! I should have expected nothing less than quick success from my sweet, agreeable, easy going baby girl. Three nights ago we started...and I told the gals at the daycare to slowly work on not letting her have the paci at naps ( I think that is going good - she didn't use it at nap with me today). First night, crying when we sat down to rock and she kept looking at the table next to the rocker where it usually is....but I held out and she quickly fell asleep and slept all night. Second night, little tiny crying (the fake kind) and quickly fell asleep, but then after about 10 min of laying her down she awoke and FREAKED out cause it wasn't there. About 5 min. of crying and she was out all night just fine. Tonight (3rd night) I sat down to rock her and she laid her head on me and started patting my chest as if to say "momma don't stress, I get it, no paci, and I'm not mad...I'm okay". NO CRYING! She's freakin' awesome...I love that baby!!!!

Awesome That's great! It's always hard to hear baby cry, I know. My kids wouldn't take a paci but the modified CIO worked to get them to sleep. My girls started STTN at around 9 months old... I swear it's the only reason I'm sane. This mama needs her sleep

Thats awesome! We've weened it from Kieran during the day but not at night and thats for my own sanity. Since we have to share a room and I can't let her CIO in my room(I can't sleep through it) she gets it at night still (and still wakes to nurse 1-3x's a night too).

Lisa - I hear you - I need my sleep too - and Nora was sleeping great - but the paci was bugging me... she was just getting too old in my eyes for it...so we had to ditch it - apparently she wasn't attached as I thought she was! Harrison never took one so this was new territory for me!

Angela - I try to get on and post but I have a daughter now - I have ALOT of online shopping to do you know

Justine - I feel for you girl...I don't know what I would do with my kids in the room - we don't even sleep in the same room with them when we travel - we get suites...but I can say that the two kids can sleep in one room together just fine in a hotel and I was worried when we first did that that they would keep each other up - gahhah they are so big!

And HI Bre!!!

I want to put my kiddo's in the same room, but I don't trust Seamus. He's not mature enough (we have to keep his door locked at night just to keep him in the house and out of the kitchen, cause he won't wake us up when he gets up), and he doesn't sleep well. It stinks.

WTG big girl I think sometimes we think they are more attached then they really are

We are just moved the boys to share a room. Dustin's first crying/complaining/screaming doesn't keep Curtis awake, he still falls asleep just fine... but if he cries for too long or too hard at night he tells me to take him into my bed haha. I think Dustin's still adjusting to his new room... he's waking up a couple times a night. It's SO hard, on all of us. I am getting so big and uncomfy and to have him in our bed is hard... Just not to sure where we go from here! I just hope Dustin gets used to the room and doesn't keep Curtis up too much.

WTG Nora!!

We're still fighting the Paci battle. We only got Chris to give it up at day but not night. Though he doesn't sleep good as it is so we're scared to push it and end up not sleeping at all. Luckily Alissa hates them and never took one.

That's awesome! Way to go Nora!!! None of my kids would take one. Sometimes I wished they would but in the end I'm glad it's not something I have to wean or take away. Lila will take one when the mood strikes her but mostly just likes to gnaw on them. Once she gets teeth I won't let her do that anymore.

We have both boys in the same room starting from when Lochy was 6 months old (he napped and started out the night in there in his crib). He never woke up Liam. I swear, a nuclear bomb couldn't wake that kid up. He even sleeps through Lochy's night terrors! We have Lila in with us just because we don't have anywhere else for her to go. BUT, we're getting the crib set up this week after some rearranging to our room!!!

That's great! We hope to get rid of the paci soon as well. This is our first week of getting rid of the bottles so I don't want to rush too much on him
