Let me just preface this with I love my husband very much and he is a wonderful man, husband, and father.
He forgot my birthday last year. We had been married for a month and he forgot it. First time ever. I expected him to forget it because he never made a mention of it leading up to it. He has no tact and is awful at surprises... he will ruin his own surprise every time, it never fails! It is kinda cute. So that's why the fact that he never mentioned it gave it away that he forgot. I didn't give him a hard time about it, I thought it was kinda funny at the time and besides, I got a weeks worth of foot rubs out of it!
Well, here we are, my birthday is on Tuesday, and he hasn't mentioned anything about it again. I won't think it is funny if he forgets it again. Last year he said he could never forget it again because he felt so bad. He said he put it in his calendar in his phone, soooooo I don't know.
Any bets on whether or not he forgot?

Hopefully he put it in his phone AND set an alarm that reminds him a few days before. 'Cause otherwise if he just sees it the day of, he's gonna be scrambling!
You could always PM me his email addy and I'll remind him for ya.

 Kate that's cheating!
I totally forgot my mom mentioned something. She got painters in for estimates to finish my nesting project in the kitchen (paint, plaster, etc.). DH mentioned she called and said she told him she wanted to hire the painters for my birthday. So maybe he will remember afterall. Now I suppose he knows it's coming up, let's see if he remembers the day of. He knows I don't want him to do anything drastic, I'm too frugal and would rather save the money. A simple happy birthday and a footrub would make me happy! I'm easy to please.

when he's close enough to hear, talk to your baby about your birthday and how excited you are that she's here to celebrate with you

He better remember! If your mom mentioned something AND he put it in his phone, he should remember. If not, then he's really going to be in some trouble!

I'm not the waiting type so I'd be bringing up my birthday constantly so that he remembers. But my situation is a lot different because we usually tell each other what we want so it's kind of difficult to forget.
I hope he doesn't forget.

I'm in favor of just reminding him. I don't like the idea of him forgetting and then a) he feels terrible, again and b) you feel disappointed in him. It makes me feel like he's being tested without knowing it and that seems unfair. Especially if he's already bad with dates and such. That could be easily avoided by just mentioning it in casual conversation or joking that for your birthday this year you'd like a small island, that kinda thing.

Glad he remembered!!!
Ya I don't really play games with dates haha. I always quiz him a week or so a head. "Guess what's in 6 days?" And his answer is always "uh what?" followed by "Oh crap really???" hahaha. But he has yet to forget
