J.J is on ear infection #9.

We are gonna get him tubes.

We have to find out if he needs his adenoids and tonsils removed too. His tonsils are very big (not swollen, just large).

If you are keeping score, in the last 30 days, J.J has had: Coxsackie, Mono and now an Ear Infection.

Because of this, we are also going to be running a full immunology panel. The doc thinks something is not quite working right with his immune system

Poor little guy! I think ear tubes and a T&A are a great decision by this point. I hope his workup is negative.

Oh no!!! Poor JJ Man....I remember when Reid was in daycare, he was sick literally every other week. Just colds though. I remember how hard that was and how horrible I felt so I can only imagine how you feel Do you think he's catching stuff from daycare (not the ear infection obviously)? Once we moved Reid to a home daycare with just a few other kids he never got sick (okay, maybe once or twice) I know it may not be an option, just throwing it out there, I don't remember what kind of daycare JJ is in. Reid was in a larger center til he was 8 months old and that's where all of the problems were. They NEVER sent kids home who were sick so EVERYONE would get it.

Bre - We pay 900 for up to 50 hours a week of day care right now. I would not trust anyone in the area I live in (shady people) for home day cares plus they all always have horrible safety violations on the states website. The problem is no one is sick at his day care -- just a few sniffles (the usual) but no ones been sent home. Its just been J.J. He is getting this stuff elsewhere and we have no idea from where. We know he got the mono from me, but we have no idea where the coxsackie came from. We use cart protectors and stuff and he does not walk around stores. The ear infection is coming because he has been congested so his ears can't drain so the fluid builds up and gets infected.

Poor JJ. I hope the tubes do the trick for him and you can figure out why he keeps getting so sick!

For what it's worth, I got chronic, awful ear infections as a child. All the time. So did my younger brother and his to the extent that it affected his hearing as a child which in turn affected his speech. And we both just seemed to outgrow them. Neither one of us has had ear infections since probably age 5 or 6. I hope that once JJ gets bigger he'll be able to nip these little infections in the bud before they get too bad for him.
