that sucks... can't believe they will total it if it still drives! I have a '10 malibu, I like it but don't love it... I drove my '97 malibu up til last november and loved it... in the old one we could fit the 2 carseats + an average size adult comfortably in the backseat, but in the new one we can barely fit anything back there with the carseats... and the trunk is nice and big, but the opening is small so I have to fight to get a stroller in or out.... but my old one had a nice big opening and I could get my full size stroller AND my double stroller back there.

Only other complaint is I feel like there are bigger blind spots than I had with the old car... It's nice, but as a mom with 2 small children, I think there must be something out there that meets the needs a little better. (MIL bought us the car... I am very grateful, just wouldn't have been my 1st choice... maybe my 2nd or 3rd.... one of the perks to her thinking its much more important that I stay home with the boys rather than working )

They said due to the water and moisture and mildew and such. Ins agent today told me it was common for them to total any flood claim that involved more than 1-2ft of water.

That stinks. Ours got totaled out back in 2006. Dh got tboned on the back passenger side the door needed replaced, frame banged back out and back fender replaced, it was around $1700 in damages and they totaled out our car too, we still drove it though, they just settled with enough money to pay off the car.

We have a Toyota Camry and a Nissan Pathfinder, but they are both pre 2000 (99 and 96) so not all nice and spiffy like the new ones.

I'm so sorry..

I love my car too.. It's a 2000 Honda civic coupe.. I bought it brand new off the lot back in 2000.. My first car and my first baby.. I modified it a bit, so it stands out..

We do plan on buying a Subaru Forester in the near future, I'm still deciding if I want to keep my car or my DH Civic Si (which is vary nice).. I just don't like the thought of someone else driving my car..

Total means that it would cost more to fix it than it is worth. They'd rather just pay out, so its not really that uncommon.

I've always driven VWs (a jetta and a passat) and I love them.
