my cold has now developed into an excruciating sinus infection. i'm so torn about what to do, because i'm in so much pain. if i go to the doctors they are just going to give me an antibiotic and i have really bad reactions to them. but at the moment i feel like my right eye and teeth are going to fall out and my right cheek is going to explode. i woke up at 3 in crazy amounts of pain and took two tylenol just hoping so badly that it would do something & i've been sitting with ice on my face since then.....not really much relief, if any... or i guess my other option is just waiting it out, i mean these things do resolve on their own right? but its just so freaking painful :'( im not sure what to do anymore....

Being pg, I would probably go to the dr and get the antibiotic to kill the infection quicker... maybe ask about a probiotic supplement to avoid a yeast infection that could follow antibiotics.... Good Luck, Hope you feel better soon!

I'm thinking you should just suck it up and get some sudafed and an antibiotic. It unfortunatley doens't sound like this is going to get better on its own.

Baby needs you healthy.

is sudafed safe? i found this:Sudafed (Pseudoephedrine): Safe during Pregnancy? - iVillage which was kinda scary sounding. also sudafed makes me all hopped up and jittery but i'd def take that over this pain....

Aw Sarah go to the doctor! Being sick and pregnant is just miserable. I had to take a round of antibiotics while pregnant too. Plus the doctor can tell you what you can take and what you should avoid.

Sounds like a sinus infection, so not fun You should deffently go get some antibiotics before it gets even worse. And my OB's said sudafed(sp) was ok to take, or Tylenol cold too.(but doesn't sound like a cold to me, with the pressure it sounds like a sinus infection or sinus cold, at least thats how mine are)

pain when something is wrong IS suppose to really hurt, Pain with a purpose and knowing an ending is coming is way different (hypnobabies way of thinking people so I'm not trying to argue LOL, just supporting her in a HB mind set! )
Neti pot daily if your prone to these (not going to work right now probably since your so clogged but you could try). Steam with oils in it.
Since you most likely do have an infection now and they will most likely put you an antibiotics. Start probiotics now (my dr said you really can't overdose on them), Make sure you DO NOT take them with in the hour before or after your antibiotic because it decrease the efficiency of the antibiotic!
I would (if I was you) get my Vit D level (cheapo bloodwork) checked also, want those numbers up since your prone to illness while preggo.

There's basic sudafed and then there's the one with the pseudoephedrine... the basic one is the one thats on the safe list, not the one with the pseudoephedrine... hope you feel better soon

It sounds painful! I'd get the meds so you can get healthy. I understand it's a hard choice but it doesn't sound like you are getting any better.
