What is your bed time routine with your LO?
Do you have certain books you read every night or do you switch it up?

We have a very simple routine.

5:30: Dinner (meat, starch, veggie)
Playtime
7:00: Bath time and teeth brushing
Lotion, massage, pajamas, cuddle time
7:30: Bed time

We tend to read a book mid-day. He is a wiggle worm and he usually gets upset when he has to hold still for so long, so we don't do it before bed.

We do:

Bath Time
Lotion Massage if he wants one
PJ's & Diaper on
Teeth Brushed
Stories while he nurses
Then he falls asleep after I turn out the light and let him nurse.

We have been reading Goodnight Moon since he was a baby. We have a stack of night time books and he picks what he wants to read. He always wants Goodnight Moon. The books are:

Goodnight Moon
Runaway Bunny
My World
Goodnight Moon Counting Book
Guess How Much I Love You
5 Monkies Jumping on the Bed
10 Sleepy Sheep
The Going To Bed Book
The Napping House

I think that is all of them. We usually read about 5-6. He will be into one for several weeks and then not want that one read for some time.

Bed time usually starts around 7-7:30

Bedtime is usually around 7-7:30 depending on when his last nap was, when he ate dinner, how tried he is or active he is. Sometimes bed time is 8pm. Usually we start with a bath around 6:45-7pm if he is tired. If not, then bath is around 7:15. He rather throw the books then have us read to him so he just gets a bottle and snuggle time

We don't have a great on time schedule since daddy's gets off work at different times pretty much daily.

Have dinner about an hour after dad gets off work.
showers with daddy
PJ's and diaper although he normally strips naked almost as soon as I get them on.
puts daddy to bed and all read stories together
me and Landen party until he tells me he is ready for bed. Then I cuddle and nurse him to sleep then we go to bed with daddy.

Books
Guess How Much I Love You
I love you through and through
Baby blue cat and the whole batch of cookies
Just like my dad
Day at the zoo
I love you stinky face
Good night baby
Digby and Kate

We read about three of those a night. Sometimes he will grab the book and point to the words and blab to us with a real serious face!

Nora is asleep between 7 and 7:30. Bath's everynight. Routine changes a little if daddy's home or not. Harrison is in bed by 8. He loves reading his children's Bible...that's usually what we read.....but sometimes he picks other books - he gets three books every night! Nora gets a book every now and then - most of the time she's falling asleep by the time we get to her books.

We do a bath every other night, then come downstairs and read 3-5 books. Then, we give daddy hugs and kisses and tell him, "Night night daddy, I love you" and head upstairs. I lay him in bed, give him his blanket and turn on the Twilight Turtle.

He has about 10 books that we usually rotate. A few off the top of my head: Cuddle (he calls it "boy book" because there is just a boy on the cover, haha), I Love You Mommy, I Love You Daddy, Just Me and My Mom, Poems from Where the Sidewalk Ends, Abby Cadaby's Ryme Time and his new favorite is an alphabet book about animals with hologram photos. It's by Little Einsteins.

What is your bed time routine with your LO? 6:45pm- Bath, pj and lavender lotion, book in the glider, than bed.

Do you have certain books you read every night or do you switch it up? We have a small pile of books we read thru. But DH and I like certain ones we read more often.

Bedtime is around 8PM. Right now, Amara's not big about books before bedtime, she prefers songs so we've been doing that for a while. She still gets story time daily though. Some nights I also do play acting to a made-up story which she really likes as well.

Bedtime is quick and easy. I've always tried to keep it really simple so anyone can do it and so we can do it any where we are.

Every other night is bath night. We get PJs on, brush teeth, potty time, and then everyone gets hugs (Big hug little hug kiss haha) and then into bed. Nothing fancy! hehe

We do books and all that during the day.

We usually have 1-4 books at bed time....2 of them are always the same for about 3 months and then 2 we switch with. he shows favoritism so we usually have those (10 wriggly, wiggly caterpillars and the clipitty crickets are his fav, and then the DR suses (sp?) ABC book-which we LOST )
We usually start the bath at 8-8:30, thats 30 min then the books, and then boob/bed.... most nights 9:30-10 he is in bed by (wakes up at 9-10am )

hmmmm I guess I should start brushing his teeth? I have NEVER done it! :worry:

Bath
Jammies (brush his teeth at this time too)
Tell the animals on his wall "night night"
Nurse while I recite "Goodnight Moon" from memory
Bed (he ends up playing for awhile usually)

We don't read books at bedtime because he doesn't want to sit through them after his jammies are on, he fusses because he is used to nursing at this time and he just wants the boobs! We sometimes read a few before his bath and I read them at other times through the day. Certain ones he will NOT sit through, like there is no way he'd listen to "Guess how much I love you".

Oh and speaking of tooth brushing, when do you guys start using toothpaste? So far I just do a dry brush. I think I read it's more important once they get molars and he doesn't have any yet.

Angela, you want to do a book trade? I think I have an extra copy of the Dr. Seuss ABC book (it's not a board book though, just regular). I am pretty sure Dh's aunt and uncle accidentally sent us the same book as a gift when Matthew was born and again for his 1st birthday.

Pretty simple.

She poops out early.
Starting around 4:45-5pm, I feed her.

Next is bath (we do one every night), lotion, PJs, her zippy (sleep sack) then nursing. Most of the time she falls asleep while nursing. If she doesn't then I'll read a book or 2 and we say our 'goodnights.' I walk her around the house and we say goodnight to Dad, the TV, her swing, jumperoo...we say goodnight to whatever we walk past, haha. Next I lay her in her crib and give her the muslin blanket and she curls right up and is off to sleep. She is in her crib and asleep by 5:30-6pm. Loving her early bedtime.

The books she (I) likes are
-How Many Kisses Do You Want Tonight
-Runaway Bunny
-Goodnight Thumper
-I love you like..(that isn't really what it is called, but that is how every page starts)

We have tons of books. I'm guessing at least 100. I'm always buying them because he will sit through me reading several to him. He almost always nurses while I read to him and I think that helps him. If Damon is in the room he wants to horse around and not lay nice and listen.

I started using toothpaste awhile ago.. I don't remember how long.. after he turned a year old. I would get some. I'm worried about his teeth since he nurses all night long on and off. I can't believe I'm going on two years of not sleeping through the night!! Kind of off subject there..

Resi he could probably nurse and have me read at the same time now. I may have to try that. Usually I keep the lights turned all the way off when he nurses though so his room is pretty dark.

We have quite a few books but some he has no interest in. We also check out about 10 board books from the library at a time. It's nice to get some fresh selection that way.

I probably need to do toothpaste. Matthew usually nurses once at night, sometimes more. Although I'll be brushing his teeth and then he'll wind up nursing right after that and getting more milk on his teeth!

Mrs. Nerd, I started brushing when she got her first tooth as well. I used her wash cloth at the time. She used to love having her teeth brushed but it has been extrememly challenging ever since she got her molars.
