I don't know about any of my other East Coasters, but this one is getting a little too close for my liking.
What stinks is I will be going away to Atlanta on Thursday, leaving DH and DS at home with a Hurricane! I decided if they say yes its going to make a direct hit to Long Island that I am not going anywhere. We will head to my parents house with the animals and stay there. I do not feel comfortable staying in our apartment because there is an entire forest behind us and high voltage towers/lines. We are not in a flood zone thankfully though.
I spent all afternoon at work making hurricane preparedness lists for him because he is the type that will forget things like the safe or diapers.
Anyone else doing anything to prepare or have I just gone off the deep end? (I bet you if I did not have a kid I would not care lol)

we don't stress it too much here on the east coast of NC....went thru Hannah a couple years ago...just a tropical storm...dh had to spend the night at the plant and me and ds went to a friends house and I drank cheap champagne.....went thru Isabelle in VA beach a few years ago...didn't have any kids at the time but I did drink myself thru that one too!
we are kinda hoping for a hurricane party!

Only thing I'm worried about is Ed being called up for Guard duty, then being stuck at home with just Hank

I'm doing well and Earl isn't in my area. It didn't affect us but it affected some other islands in the Caribbean.
Sam, I would agree with you to stay if it's going to make a hit. It's is a pretty strong and scary storm.
Angela, I've been around but not as much. We're working on a pretty hectic project at work so it's reduced my online time. Once we've finished, I'll be able to check in a bit more again.

We're doing some preparedness, but I've been pretty much prepared since the season started other than just loading things up for an evac. We're right on the coast of GA, only a few miles from the shore, it shouldn't hit us but we're watching it pretty closesly.

Totally haven't been paying attention to it at all.
Sam, last weekend DH and I were in the CNN center sitting across from the Chick Fil A and I was thinking how it would be crazy if I happened to run into you... and then remembered dragon con wasn't that weekend, lol.

We are here in MA.. Its not supposed to be too bad here, yet. We are in central MA so we may get rain, but we arent expecting too strong of winds. If it ends of turning into anything, we will take the dog and head to Chris' parents, but we cant bring the cats his family is all DEATHLY allergic.

I saw the weather news last night and I just want to send safe wishes to all who may be affected.
Fiona has just passed us as well and is headed to some of the other islands in the Caribbean.

I know Jenn is in Corolla with her kids! What a bummer!!
I got out just in time, haha. But generally the people on the coast are prepared for this kinds of things....plus hurricane parties are always fun.
