I had such a hard time deciding! I was going to go for brand new (what my mom and aunt wanted me to do) but I didn't want the payment. I could have gotten a 2010 or 2011 something for 19-22k....but I just didn't feel comfortable doing that with the house and all. SOOOOOO.....I got a 2007 Jeep compass limited for 4k under the book price! I do have a slight payment but only 39 bucks a month since I was able to use my ins. settlement and my savings to pay all of it but 2k! I love it too! I could have gotten a 2008 compass sport 4x4 base for 800 less and it had 18k miles on it....I think it was 4x4 too. Anyway, I didn't trust the dealer at all with it and felt he was being shady with me and talked down to me some. SO on my way there I made a split second decision to go with my original thought of the 2007 compass limited. It's only 6m older and has 33k miles, but has all the bells and whistles too. I could have paid outright for the other-I had arranged it so that I could have borrowed 500 from my aunt to cover it all, and I feel better about this since i didn't have to.

Glad you got your car and I think it's really smart not to want to have too much additional expenses with the house.

Yay! Good for you. I agree with you, I hate car payments. We will need a 'new' car when we have a 2nd child, and we are saving to avoid a car payment as well.

A new car is always nice! Glad you went with your gut. I wonder why the newer one with less miles was cheaper. I must have been a lemon and they just wanted to get rid of it.

The newer one was just a base car with ac as the only added thing. The one that I got is a limited and had everything. I have pics saved on my computer from the dealer site i got it from, I'll upload here in just a bit
