How does your LO do with having their nails clipped? How do you do it and what do you use? Any special tips or tricks? Does DH or anyone else ever do it?

I usually am the one that does them. I start with Curtis. I do his before bed while he's doing his nightly potty break hehe. I cut his and then Dustin wants his done so it works perfectly haha. They never put up a fight

I'm the only one who does it. I use a baby nail clipper. He does well but starts squirming around when I'm half done. No tips or tricks. I just make sure that I don't pinch any skin and so far it's never happened.

It's HORRID. His nails are long enough for a french tip right now He WILL NOT let me cut them but when he's sleeping, I'm too afraid to try because I'm worried it will wake him, and with all of our sleeping issues lately I don't want to risk it!

I can usually cut 1 or 2 before he freaks out, and then sometimes they will break and he will let me fix it. Ugh. I hate it!

I cut them once when she was a couple weeks old and I took off a chuck of thumb. She bleed quite a bit and I felt HORRIBLE So from now on, only DH cuts them. He has the steady surgeon hands and it perfect at it. He does it while she is in the bath tub.

I always have my girls sit on my lap facing away from me so it's like I'm cutting my own nails. I feel more confident when it feels familiar.

Gabriella had a harder time with it when she was younger, now she is a lot more patient with me. I have done everything from making funny noises to singing songs to counting, etc. Now Cambria is the harder one to do.

In the beginning I always used a nail file. Once they hit a certain age and I feel comfortable cutting them they sit on the couch while they watch tv and I cut them. Taylor's fine with it though. She LOVES getting her nails painted LoL

I can't clip Henry's fingernails without making him bleed. Those baby clippers are crap. So I just use a nail file and he thinks it's funny. For his toenails, I clip them when he's in his high chair.

I nipped Charlotte once too and felt awful about it. DH has had to cut them ever since.

Amara dislikes having hers done so I usually do them when she's asleep.

I use baby clippers... Lucas has always done fine, I nipped one of his toes when he was a newborn so my aunt did his nails for me for awhile while she baby sat him... Alex on the other hand, you would think he wasn't going to live to see tomorrow the way he screams, and he's such a light sleeper I don't dare try while he's asleep, so I usually take one day and get in 1-2 nails every few hours!

Put a cartoon on and use a nail file! So much easier and safer (BTDT, cut a chunk off the top of the baby's finger when she was a few weeks old )

I haven't tried doing Adeline's yet.. They really aren't long yet.. I hope I can get away without having to do them for awhile, I'm scared to clip them! I may have to get a baby nail file like some of you have mentioned!!
