What do you do with a newborn? Harper is awake more now and I've been putting her in the Beco but that just puts her to sleep. I hold her and talk to her and we listen to music. What else is there to do?

At that age I wore him a lot and went for walks in the mall or outside. I'd sing to him, talk to him, bounce him the that bouncy that played music, show him the the newborn rattles and toys. I walked around the house with him a lot on my shoulder because that is what he liked best. I also read stories. Sometimes he would be happy for a short time in his crib watching his mobile or on a floor mat with things that hang down. I also did some belly time with him. There isn't a lot to do with them at this age.
I sand a lot and got out of the house when I could (it was always so hot). I always thought that was too young to read books to them, but when I finally did she was mesmerized by the pictures. That was too young for Charlotte to enjoy much of anything that didn't involve hanging out in someone's arms, so the play mat and swing were out. We also danced a lot and played during bath time.

Thank you GraysMama for my beautiful siggy!
oh and I don't know how I forgot about this but at 4 weeks old London and I took some Itsy Bitsy Yoga Classes ( you can just buy the DVD also). Its not yoga for MOM its actually yoga for the babies! I think it really helps with gas issues and ear issues as well.
Contrast is big.... so anything Black/white and red are the main colors she can focus on now. They have books made for this but you could just get a printer and print of high contrast shapes/designs and let her look at them. http://www.justmommies.com/forums/f1...velopment.html http://www.justmommies.com/forums/f1...velopment.html http://www.justmommies.com/forums/f1...velopment.html
i just remember mostly cuddling with payne when he was a newbie, and i talked to him a lot. i'm one of those people who has a compulsive baby talk problem hehehe he loved his little bouncy vibrating chair with dangly stuff, so he was in there quite a bit too. or i wore him to clean the apt...
Nothing! HA I personally didn't love newborn stage, my babies were very chill so I was quite bored alot of the time...I'm not much of a baby mommy I guess....just enjoy staring at her and in a few months you'll wonder where the newborn moments went so fast
