Not sure why but I have this HUGE urge to do something for ME. And for some odd reason I have always wanted to run a 5k (ok its no marathon) but I haven't even RAN one mile in my life. I was that kid in school who was "sick" during that day of gym. Its kind of always bugged me. No idea why but I just feel like I need to do this now.
However I'm a slacka@s and I NEED pushing.... and you don't even have to be nice I welcome REAL pushes! Tell my my butts big--- I don't care I need it
So in order to keep my on track .... I need my village and you guys got me through my labor, I was hoping you all could get me through this.

Here is the program- Cool Running | The Couch-to-5K ® Running Plan
My plan is to start monday....not sure yet how this is going to work yet with london but.... I don't want to fail this.
Anyone interested in joining me? I also have a program that I added to my facebook and will post when I run (on this thread also!).
Ok soo..... LETS DO THIS!

I'm going to have to use a treadmill because I'm not in a safe area of town to run.
BUT YEAH I'm So excited to have a buddy!!!! Does starting monday work for you also?
I picked monday to start because I'm on CD4 and I want to be done LOL also I need all three days to be on the weekdays since our weekends usually involve trips of some sort.
I would put up some stats but I don't have a scale! LOL I THINK I have a tape measure...... I will see if i can find it and measure up

Go Angela! Great goal.
I won't be joining you. I'm way too lazy to run. Plus the few times I've tried to run I hated it and sucked at it@

ok so tomorrow is GO time! But i'm already confused LOL
here is the program for tomorrow:
Brisk five-minute warmup walk. Then alternate 60 seconds of jogging and 90 seconds of walking for a total of 20 minutes.
So is that 20 min total everything or 5 min walk then 20 min jog/walk? LOL

25 minutes total Angela! The warm up doesn't count towards your time or distance in C25K. I'm doing it on the treadmill too right now. I start week 2 tomorrow. I do my workouts on Monday, Wednesday and Friday!
You can do it!

I did a 5K in May and have never felt so accomplished in my life. I pretty much stopped running after that, but really should get back into it.
You will feel great! That program looks really easy to follow. I will be here cheering you on and maybe even forcing myself to join in!

Woohoo! You can do it!
I had totally planned on running a 5K this year. I got new sneakers, mapped a few routes in my new neighborhood and was planning on starting a few days after the move... and then I got pregnant I didn't want to risk starting running when pregnant so I gave up that goal. The 5K I wanted to run actually would have been today (Sept. 5)!
Next year maybe...

Ill be doing it with you from across the pond!
Do you have the c-2.5k programme for your iPod/Mp3 player?
I am gonna go do mine on my own when Gary gets home from work - after dinner so around 6pm time. I plan on doing it along the seafront & times when I can't do that I will do it in my back garden

My plan is also right when troy gets home, hand him london and head to the gym.
