I have been debating back and forth with myself if I want a Beco or an Ergo...I like the look of the Beco better and I don't want to pay extra for the Newborn support for the Ergo. So that's already two votes for Beco from me.

BUT

I have some questions for those who own the Beco:

1. What made you choose the Beco?
2. Have you tried the Ergo?
2b. If you have tried the Ergo, what do you like best about the Beco?
3. Do you have the Beco Butterfly 2 or the Beco Gemini?
3b. Have you tried both models? If so, which do you like best?

I have the ergo sport now and any day I should get my gemini in.
you don't have to buy the ergo infant insert... we never needed it-a burp towl works just as good.
once I get my gemini in I will do a proper review!

1. What made you choose the Beco? Nolan is a back archer and I needed the taller shell height to keep him feeling secure. He is also really tall and I didn't want him to outgrow the ergo.
2. Have you tried the Ergo? Yep I tried it on with Nolan in it....it was really really comfy but the shell height made me nervous.
2b. If you have tried the Ergo, what do you like best about the Beco? The pattern (haha) and like I mentioned, the shell height. Nolan was arching his back while in the ergo and the beco and he felt more secure in the beco. And then he fell asleep in it.
3. Do you have the Beco Butterfly 2 or the Beco Gemini? Butterfly 2
3b. Have you tried both models? If so, which do you like best? My local CD store has the Gemini in so I want to investigate it, but I loooooooooooooovvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeee my Beco x 1 million.

I choose the Beco because I liked the security panel in it. Im new to babywearing and feared user error so I like the added security that once he is in the part I can fiddle around and know he is safe and snug.

1. What made you choose the Beco? I liked the look of the Beco verses the Ergo.. The Ergo looks to much like camping gear..
2. Have you tried the Ergo? No.

3. Do you have the Beco Butterfly 2 or the Beco Gemini? I have the Beco Butterfly 2 and I love it.. I love that extra security..

I tried the butterfly and hated the security liner inside...it prevented me from BFing and one of my main loves for the carriers are I can BF and he goes to sleep but I can just keep doing what I'm doing. The gemini they got rid of that so thats why I'm giving it a try again.
Both are tested up to 90lbs (but of course they only recommend 35-40lbs max).

See, I'm looking for something I use to wear Mason and breastfeed at the same time. So it looks like I'll be going with the Gemini...

I have a Beco Butterfly 2. I liked Angela's Ergo Sport that I tried better because the straps seemed more comfy to me, though I didn't wear it all that long.

I bought the Beco cause I liked the pattern and I didn't know which one I'd like better.

For me the inner panel isn't a big deal b/c I don't think I can BF in a carrier. My boobs are located low on my chest (not saggy, just their location if that makes sense) and I think it would be hard for me to get an older babies mouth down low enough to be able to BF in a carrier. I will have to try on the next baby when he/she is small, in my wrap n wear and see if I can get it to work next time.

I am tempted to buy an Ergo Sport since they come in blue now. But I don't want to sell my Beco!

I have a Beco and an Ergo. I really really really prefer the look of the Beco and want to prefer the Beco in general but I can't lie to myself- the Ergo is waaaay more comfortable. I wish they made Ergo's more feminine looking.

It's not just more comfortable for me- it seems like the Ergo is more comfortable for the child, too. The straps are more padded and the Beco has a buckle right where their head is. It seems like the way they sit in the Ergo is more comfy, too- maybe because there's more room and I had thicker babies?
