What kind of play area do you have for your LO (or future LO) outside?
Do you have a big backyard, small yard, fenced, swingset? Plans for a future swingset?

We have a good sized yard but its not fenced and its right on the corner of a fairly busy street, so needles to say they dont' play out side often at all. I dont like that fact that anyone stupid or stupidly drunk could swerve into our yard and hit one of the kids

We have a tiny outside area in the back, but it's very very small. We should be able to have either a kiddie pool or a sandbox in there though. Our front yard is bigger (though still small) but it's filled with all sorts of plants right now (it was like that when we got the house). We want to get rid of some of the plants so we can have some grass instead.

We do live very close to a huge park though.

We have a fairly large gated patio with really tall walls (people can't see over) so Reid plays out there a lot. It's good for riding his powerwheels, trike and other driving toys. Often times I sit at our patio table and use the laptop while he plays I hope we can have a real yard soon!

I live in a ground floor apartment so I have a patio but once I'm off the patio there's a small grassy area. I have a water table, side walk chalk, a pool, a Barbie Jeep, ride on scooters but they love running around the best

We have a small side yard and a patio. I would like to get the side yard fenced in because the road is so close and it makes me nervous although I'm always with him. He has a sand/water table, wagon, car riding toy for outside. Our yard isn't big enough for a swing set but we have a 3 parks in our neighborhood and the bigges one is 1/2 block away.

We have a big backyard with nothing behind us but a big field... we have a swingset thats big enough for dh and I to go on with the boys and a giant octagon shaped sandbox that my dad built for the boys. During the summer we put up a kiddie pool and there's a small hill going from our backyard into the field so they can go sledding in the winter. This year we had a pumpkin plant grow in our front flower bed, so the highlight of our summer has been watching the pumpkin grow! We also have a really big driveway so I park my car at the end sometimes for them to ride their bikes and play with chalk.

We have a good sized yard I think. We have a top deck for BBQ and patio set (which we need to buy a new one!) and then a lower deck that is perfect for the kiddie pool and ride on toys. Then a nice sized yard with a big tree and it's fully fenced. We also have a nice front lawn that all the neighbourhood kids and ours play on We live in a quiet family oriented cul de sac so there is ALWAYS little kids outside playing! I LOVE LOVE LOVE it here

The lower deck

One half of the yard

other half

We dont have much out there for them yet... but we'll work on that. Swings/slides etc will come IT's also alot neater!!! I cleaned up all the toys and minimalized how many are out there

Here I live on a farm so there's lots of room to play but it's also near a busy highway that scares me. but we are far enough from it he can run and play. When we move the backyard isn't as big as I wanted. I wanted 100x40 for the back but I got 100x16 and 100x22. Wide but not deep. And it doesn't look like 16 but maybe it is. The front yard is huge though and it will all be fenced in. I was very fortunate that my ex step dad's neighbors bought a vacant lot that was completely fenced in and gave me the fence. I have over 400ft of chainlink fence, rails, posts and all for FREE! Has gates and all with it so I'm gonna put it up when we move in so he can play.

we too have a pumpkin plant growing! I've been most excited about it LOL

We have big back yard, but it's still a work in progress.. We just installed a 4 zone sprinkler system and next will be 2 inches of top soil and then hydro seed.. So, this year my kids didn't really play in the back yard.. Our yard is partial fenced in.. Hopefully we plan on putting in a fence within 2-3 years. We also live in a kid friendly neighborhood.

Once it's fenced in, I want to put in a hammock swing set for the kids and have my dad help me build a gazebo for a kids play area.. I want to hang up curtains around it.. Make it fun and a nice place to go to read a book or pretend play.. '

Depends on the hotel... but we almost always have a pool.

Right now I have a lake, pool, huge yard, and swingset.

I just re-seeded our backyard this summer. So we finally have a nice flat grass area. The toys are fairly minimal, he has a climber out there, kiddie pool, sandbox, and other misc. toys. Next summer we are re-building the deck, and my DH plans on building a swing-set, plus a nice big raised area for my veggie garden.

We don't have what I consider to be a small backyard but it has adequate space for a swing set or other playset.

We don't currently have a swing set but we are thinking of getting one. We didn't want to get a kiddie one, we're looking for one that adults or children can use. We saw some but there were too big with 3 swings, sometimes a slide, etc. We're looking for one with just 2 swings.

I live in an apartment for now, 2nd floor so balcony but no patio... but there are lots of wonderful parks and playgrounds in my area, so Dominic gets some outdoor playtime. There's a pond in my complex but I wouldn't let him play by it because there is so much goose poop around it.

We have a good sized yard, but it's all landscaped so there isn't a whole lot of grass. We could easily make room for a swing set, and we have lots of cement for bikes and power wheels when she is old enough. Our yard is a mess of weeds right now, but we plan to get it fixed up at some point, when we are not so lazy!

Decent sized backyard and it is fenced in. Dh is still working on putting in a patio and it's been nice to have that for his water table, now he just needs to finish it and get a gazebo over it so we can have shade. That's the worst part of our backyard, no mature trees, just two tiny ones and it gets so so hot here.

We'll get a swingset but I wanted to wait till he was big enough for a "big" swingset instead of a toddler one.
