That's the Integrated Prenatal Screening. So my tests screened negative, with a 1 in 11900 chance of down's syndrome and a 1 in 1840 chance for open neural tube defects and spina bifida. i'm relieved for sure! my midwife says both of those numbers are 'very very low' i'm sooooooooooo psyched for my anatomy scan, seriously can it be here already!!?? not till the 29th though...

u know whats funny....i still kinda have that feeling of unreality about the pregnancy...like i can't believe its really happening kinda thing....i'm hoping as movement gets to be more & i find out the gender it will get more real! ha just as i typed this i think i felt it move....its like "Momma i'm real in here!"

Awesome news

As the movement gets stronger it will set in. In some ways though, I find it isn't ALL real until baby is a couple months old hehe. I think I'll feel that way with this one. My pregnancy went by so fast!!

Yay for such great news!

I agree that it will become more real once you feel the baby moving more, but really, I don't think it sets in until long after you have your baby in your arms that they are forever yours.

I had flashes of it being real during the pregnancy, but then I got HUGE FAST and had about 80 ultrasounds so I can understand why it hasn't been sinking in for you so much. LOL I love that you're already feeling him/her! I felt Dominic early too, especially for a first pregnancy - around 15 weeks if I remember correctly.

If you want a reality shocker, spring for the 3D ultrasound. I think seeing Dominic in 3D and color was the most "real" he seemed to me throughout the pg.

Also, great news on the IPS results! One more thing you can cross off your worry list.

Congrats on those great results! Must be a huge relief for you. I go through stages of it being 'real' and 'not real'. Having someone tell you you are having a son or daughter will make it much more real!

There is a study that shows that the mother's intuition on what gender she is having is 70% correct (unless she has a preference).

intuition

ETA: The link showed up a bit weird but it goes to the right place.

I didn't get that "real" mommy feeling till a couple weeks AFTER he was born! LOL those first few weeks I felt like I was babysitting and the "real" parents would show up any second
