...and we are off to see a pediatric gastroenterologist at the end of the month. *sigh*

His acid reflux is not getting better, it is only getting worse. He is on prilosec AND zantac now.

DH had severe acid reflux as a kid and ulcerated his stomach and esophagus by age 7. We don't want that for J.J. *sigh*

My poor baby

However in other news, he strung together his first phrase yesterday. "What's that!" is his new thing he says when he points to things. It's cute And he learned the word no. Everything is No now. I'm in for it!

Poor little guy We had to bring my oldest son to a ped. gastroenterologist during his 1st year for reflux, but his got better as he went from formula to solids... he also had to be on nutramigen formula (hypoallergenic) because he has a milk allergy. She did tell us that the reflux tends to be worse when they are teething or sick. Hope you get some answers and relief soon!!

Poor thing I'm sorry he's been struggling so much. That's awesome about the new phrase though!

Poor little guy. We had such a tough time getting Matthew off his Prevacid. He was on until well after a year and we finally had to wean it very slowly even thought they said I could stop it cold turkey (he had bloody spitup every time I tried cold turkey).

I hope you find something that works for him. Have they tried Prevacid? That seems to be the "drug of choice" for many when I searched around online.

Poor J.J.! I hope they figure something out for him! My BFFs son has reflux so bad that he is always getting sick too.

My first phrase was "Whats that?" but it came out as "wasat?" haha

Prilosec works for him more then prevacid did. We tried it. We have prevacid just in case as well but he seems to need more. So we can do Zantac before bed and in the middle of the night if needed and prilosec in the morning.

Surprisingly after all the trouble we've been having he is almost all the way on Lactaid Whole Milk with no troubles! He is getting 1 soy bottle and that is in the middle of the night. We are still being careful with solids because a new unknown allergy has recently popped up and we don't know to what but hes got the rash again *sigh*

What dose of prilosec is he on? My pedi was telling me that new research is saying that they under dose children.

I had reflux from a young age that never went away. I take a double does of prilosec, and still occasionally need Zegarid for breakthrough. (Zegarid is the equivalent of 2 prilosecs and some baking soda) They found i have a malformed stomach, and it sits above the stomach/esophogus junction so acid just spills in.

Maybe he needs a higher dose

He's maxed out at 15mg per day for his weight.
