So last night around 11, i was lounging around watching tv. I started to feel really sick. I did have BBQ for dinner, but this was different. The room started spinning and i got really hot and sweaty... just didn't feel right. Because my BP was high at my appt I decided to check it again, and it was 150/100

I had a glass of water and laid on my left side... the whole deal. I watched TV for another hour, but continued to feel worse. BP was now 160/92. I didn't know how concerned to be, and i really didn't want to call the doctor because i knew they would send me to the hospital. I talked it over with my one of my nursey friends, and she talked me into just calling. Of course I was unfarmiliar with the on call doc, and he told me to go to the hospital. (big suprise) So i wake up Matt and we go.

I get to the hosp, and i'm still feeling terrible. My BP on arrival was 156/94 and remains high for the next hour and a half or so. They do labs, check urine, and monitor Teddy, who was dancing and didn't seem to notice anything amiss. My labs of course come back normal, and my urine is fine, apart from blood in my urine. (hurray maybe another kidney stone) Its the wee hours of the morning, and i nearly fall asleep, and by 3am my bp is all the way down to 124/82, and i feel 100% better.

The whole thing was just kinda weird. I hate looking like the crazy nurse who can't stop checking her own blood pressure. But i am glad that nothing's wrong. I think i need to just put the cuff away. And... going back to bed now.

I went up to the hospital late at night one night while pregnant for my 1st son because I went almost an entire day without feeling him move, after feeling him beat up my insides and have hiccups every day for months. When they hooked me up to monitor him he was moving like crazy and she was shocked that for some reason I just wasn't feeling all the moment. I made the comment about feeling like an over-paranoid crazy and she told me "No No... we much rather have you here once a week until you deliver and have it be nothing rather than not come in and have it be something serious"

Always trust your mommy instinct!

I'm glad you went in! Have they done a 24 hour urine on you yet? Your symptoms sound eerily like mine did and I did have pre-e. No protein ever showed up on my dipsticks because I drink too much water and my BP would go up but come back down a couple hours later. Be careful and rest up!

The scare and stress over seeing a slightly elevated BP can and will make it skyrocket! I checked mine about 5 wks ago and it was 160/103....I got upset and rechecked in 20mins and it was 173/128! by the time my panic attack over the whole ordeal was over it was back down to around 130/98.....still high but way better lol. today: 127/81 I'm not sure about the others, but my BP was PERFECT with Brayden up until I hit 32/33 wks and it went up likes yours is now. My ob wasn't a bit concerned. He said it was normal in some.

Dont feel stupid! You're just a prego woman. Most of us have those moments and although in the end we feel stupid, its good that our minds are at ease.
