I don't know if anyone else heard this, but, I just read it in a magazine.

"The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology now recommends that VBACs be offered even to women who have had two c-sections and those carrying twins. Ask your doc if you are a candidate"

Thats awesome. I wish our stupid crap hospital would get it through their heads that VBAC's a safe. Thats one thing (besideds getting debt caught up and back into school) thats hindering me from wanting 1 last kid. Our hospital will not allow VBAC's its stupid, the OBs have no issues with it but hospital policy doesn't allow them. I'd rather not have another c/s unless it was needed again for a breech baby or emergency. I think its even dumber they won't allow it when I've already had one vaginal birth even though it was the one before the c/s birth.

That is great news. I know my doctor told me right after having Oliver I can always try for a vbac the next time around. She confirmed that at my last yearly exam. One of my mommy friends IRL is pregnant with her second and she plans on a repeat c/s. When I told her I wasn't sure which way I'd go she was surprised about vbacs because assumed it was too dangerous and more safe to do a repeat. Her father was the CEO of a hospital around here too. It seems a lot of mothers are not educated about their choices when it comes to these things.

i never really got how that could be 'hospital policy' like what if you show up in labour and decline a C section? they can't actually force you can they??
