This all started roughly about 5 weeks after Bella was born. Granted Im stubborn and havent seen a dr yet - which I do need to make an appt tomorrow ASAP.
It started with a heat rash type thing in my left armpit. And us bigger ladies, we have flubby arms that dont let the breeze go through, so its a perfect area for bacteria to grow. I kept it as dry and clean as possible. No worries, I can deal with that. about 4 weeks later, I started getting little pimples on my rib area right under my arm. Maybe a spider got me a few different times? no real infection, so no real reason to go in. fast forward to about now *about 4-6 weeks later, Ive lost track* I had a pimple I thought on my right armpit area (on the outside of the armpit, right where the edge of my arm and rib area meet, but not under the arm) I popped it, thought that was that till about 4 days ago when a large mass started forming under the skin, thought it was swollen so I let it be. But today its hard like a rock. Tomorrow I am going to find a dr who will see me with MRSA experiance and see what we can do about this. Im sure this is alllll related, and I bettcha I got it from the hospital when I had Bella (yay go me )
Anyways, I know there is a nurse or 2 on this board, can you maybe give me some insight??
~Beth

MRSA Symptoms - MRSA Symptoms List
It could be an infected boil, it could be an infected boil that is MRSA, could be just a boil. It definitely sounds like a stubborn boil though that needs to be lanced!

I was thinking boil or infected hair follicle. It doesn't sound MRSA like to me (but the cases I always saw they were in the hospital so you were more sick).

I hope it's not MRSA! My friend got it about 3 weeks after her DD was born and she kept shrugging it off thinking it was nothing till it was to late! Not to scare you but they had to cut it out and she had a hole where the nurse had to come to her house everyday to change the bandages on it. Now she has a scar =(

When it had a head, it wasn't as red as yours, justine. But it was red. Hubby doesn't think its MRSA as MRSA has a tendancy to get really bad, really fast. This to me isnt that bad. And yes krista, its a hard knot under the skin. My other question is I'm very acute today like I'm coming down with the flu. But I'm not clamy nor do i have a fever. It's sore, not really painful, and tylenol takes away any pain I'm feeling (stays tender but not painful) now this achy feeling could be the course of a spider bite, or could be the weather changes (im veeeerry sensitive to weather changes, I've been known to get achy like this due to stress even) so I'm at a total loss on what to do. Do I still go in or just wait it out?

But if you have insurance go in and see what they say, I know some things need to be lanced and drained. Lemme know (if your's is similar to mine I know I gotta find a way to get to a doc to get it fixed)

well Im not achy today, so it was from the weather change. Im sore all over but I also moved about 5 bales of hay for the first time since getting pregnant with Bella - so that rules that out. So I think....I know Im bad....Im going to wait it out....like hubby said, if its MRSA it would have been 10x as bad already. Its not as painful today and I havent taken anything for it yet (but I need to soon cuz I do have a slight headach, but thats normal for me with the weather change) Thanks ladies!!

I have something that sounds like that (and looks kind of like Justine's) on my thigh. it's been there for a while but I think now it's just becoming a scar (I tend to pick at things) I hope yours isn't MRSA!

Well mine has gone down a LOT in size yesterday and today. so no its not MRSA. Just waiting it out to see what happens next. Im thinking it was a spider bite that got super raunchy. So happy the pain with it is gone, its just tender now!
