I've been using the Aveeno Baby Bath and Shampoo since Amara was born. The Aveeno Baby line can be very hard to get here and I have to run around searching for it. I have one bottle left at home from the stash I bought when I visited the US and I was wondering if I could move to regular soap since she is almost 2yrs.

What kind of soap (baby/regular) and brand do you use for your toddlers?

Aveeno baby wash for sensitive skin. Taylor has eczema and I figured it would do well on my other kids too

We use Aveeno baby for Lila but regular Dove body wash and kids shampoo for the boys. Lochy has sensitive skin like me and the only soap I can use is Dove and it works well for him too. We always have to lotion up in the winter anyway.

Amara has eczema too so I have to be careful what I choose. I just wish I could find someone who had it in stock constantly.

We use Burt's Bee. I'll probably use it until she is 5ish. We love it.

Have you looked into what maybe causing the eczema? A.J had severe eczema.. When I did allergy testing on him, I found out he was allergic to soy (protein). Once the soy was out of his diet, the eczema disappeared and now I can use whatever product I want on him.. That same day I got A.J tested, another mom told me her 2 year old had bad eczema and she found out it was corn that caused it.. crazy...

I used Weleda products on A.J when he had eczema.. Aveeno made it worse and so did Burts Bee.. Weleda is international, maybe you have it there..

Yes. When she was first diagnosed, it was due to a reaction to cow's milk. She has been on goat's milk ever since without a problem but some foods trigger hers as well, either the food itself or the quantity. For example, she can use oranges for maybe 2 days but if she used them for a week, she would react. This happens with a few other fruit.

Heat is also a trigger but it is manageable.

She had an allergy test in August which indicated that she no longer reacts to cow's milk. They tested for 10 different foods (wheat, milk, egg, fich, etc) and she showed a reaction only to fish.

Recently, she was having a reaction and I was elimating to see what it could have been. I traced it back to the use of multivitamins (orange flavored) or the Giovanni conditioner I was using on her hair. I stopped both around the same time and the rash cleared.

Usually, you will never know that she has eczema because I've identified certain triggers and know how to respond to them.

Suave 3-in-1 for both kids and we have to slather lotion on Seamus. His eczema is bad, so he can only have a bath 1-2 nights a week, any more and his skin drys and gets worse and more patches pop up (no matter what soaps we use, the water is bad on his skin). He also has the bumps on his arm that the doc said was a cousin to eczema and is hereditary, both my brothers and I have it.

Obviously I don't use anything for toddlers, but I did what to chime in about the eczema because I break out with it from time to time and the dove body wash is about all I can use.

I've always used Earth Mama, Angel Baby or California Baby. I'm not sure if you would find those by you.

We don't have a lot of those brands but Dove is fairly popular here so if I can't find the Aveeno Baby before my bottle runs out, I will try see if I can get the Dove.

Johnsons is popular here too but some are scented so I try to avoid those. I will check to see if there are any which aren't. I used the Aveno because they are the almost natural line from Johnsons.

I use the johnsons and johnsons or whatever the heck it's called for all my boys. The bath wash and bubble bath stuff. However I think Dustin's skin is too sensitive.. he's got like bumps on his arm so I'm going to try something gentler and see if that helps.

I'm too afraid to move to anything that doesn't say tear free haha.

The reason most products are tear free is because there is a drug added that numbs the eyes so it does not react to the irritant.

This is my problem as well. Bad eczema, especially in the winter. The patches on my legs get so bad they can bleed. Dove is the only thing I can use.

Wow.. Heat is a trigger for you.. Cold is for my son.. The Dry air is killer up here for people who suffer with eczema.. When I went to the Dermatologist, he said my son's eczema would clear up in the warm months..

But it sounds like you know what you are doing.. My DH has sensitive skin too and he only uses Dove.. I heard in some countries they make Dove baby products.. Unfortunately, we don't have that here in the the U.S or I would have tried that too..

Do you have Cetaphil available?

We use the suave 3-in-1. Morgan, though, has too much hair for the suave to get clean, so Im using the Tresemme deep cleansing shampoo on her now. For the baby we are using the Johnson's and Johnson's stuff that Justine bought us last year (for the secret santa thing, I LOVE the smell now that Im not pregnant LOL!!) But I do need/want to switch to something more natural because skin tends to break out in little hives if we use too much soap, or give her too many baths.

We tried Cetaphil before we went to Aveeno and it didn't work for her. The doctor had recommended that as well as the moisturizer when she was first diagnosed but she had shown no improvement while on it so we went back to the Aveeno wash and the Aveeno moisturizer and that worked great. She's been using Aveeno products ever since.

Thanks ladies so much for the suggestions. I will check out a few of the products that I can find here if I the Aveeno is not in stock or I will have to see if it is worth the while to ship the aveeno products in.
