So Morgan has requested some dollie accessories, meaning wants me to knit her up some blankies, pillow cases and sleeping bags for her baby dolls. Ok thats easy enough. I also found this super soft wool yarn that I will knit into a pair of socks for her (she is the sock QUEEN, ALWAYS has to have her socks lined up and LOVES to wear mismatched random socks...) So I figure from "santa" that will be enough for her. Bella will be getting some little animals that I found from Fiona's FB page (they are super cute) So that has her covered. I just need some Ian ideas. Things that a 5 year old boy would like that are NOT mainstream. Thinking of making him a few capes, as he LOVES being a super hero/knight. what else can I make for him?? Maybe a flag for his room with his name on it, so he can conquer his own land? Im just at a total loss....

*coloring things are out of the question, he cant grasp the concept of NO CRAYONS ON THE WALL...you should see it, its baaaaad......*

Thanks ladies!!!

~Beth

I'm at a loss for boys games at any age. Last year I gave my godson a viewmaster kit and the year before a bubble maker.

I choose my 8 year old nephew this year in my family's kid gift exchange and I have no idea what to get him.

I've been scouting the thread Angela (the one who married the nerd) created for ideas but nothing yet that I think he will want.

Good luck in deciding. I think the capes and flag are great!

What about the color wonder stuff? They can write on anything with those markers/paint/etc and it only shows up on the paper. We have a quite a few of those things.

My boys are huge into hotwheels stuff and legos (you know, the tiny kind that my crawling baby will pick up and put in her mouth and choke on?). We were also thinking of getting a couple easy, basic model car kits to do with them. Whenever we're at the craft store they beg for those. What about a magic kit or something? Then he could definitely put that cape to good use too!

I'm sure they'll also get some Wii games too. And my parents got them each a bike, which they are going to flip over.

Hmm... will he play with planes, trains, or cars? You can find some basic ones that are not mainstream. How about a sled? Modeling Beeswax? Building blocks like this: Amazon.com: Melissa & Doug 60-Piece Standard Unit Blocks: Toys & Games: Reviews, Prices & more Or maybe you want to stick with homeade gifts? I'm not creative enough to come up with ideas for that.

Oh I am SOOOOOOOOO glad I am not the only one with crayon on my walls!!!!!!!!!!!! You have NO idea how much better I feel now! Seriously!

A huge dry erase board ($20 at walmart) and dry erase crayons They also make dry erase stick on things you can put on a wall

And LOL At Angela (The one who married the nerd) That made me LOL!

And back to the original post: I got Brayden a play microwave, a big honking huge tonka truck, cars, wrestling figures (YUCK he loves them) glow sticks, a ribbon twirler (yeah girly I don't care) and the knex rollercoaster. The cape is good, the flag is too. What about a checker board and make wooden checkers? Plaster sets he can paint. Sun catchers.

We got the boys these at the dollar store and were a HUGE hit!

They especially loved the plaster train banks to paint and love scrounging for change to put in them!
