We are going to my family's, which is about a 2.5 hour drive. I'm excited to see everyone. And Fran (our au pair) is excited to experience her first Thanksgiving.

All of my family will be gone, so I'm being adopted to another family next week if I so desire.

We're going to stay a few days with my husband's family. Thanksgiving meal with them on Thursday, then Thanksgiving meal with my family (in the same town) on Friday. Some years we've done lunch with my family and dinner with his....eat through the pain!

We are staying home and my mom is coming over. I'm not cooking though. This year I pre ordered everything made from Whole Foods. I'm not wanting to cook a turkey or any of the other stuff. I'm over it this year. I'm sure it will be good. I've got a few things from WF last year and it was yummy.

Resi, that's a great idea! Get to enjoy a nice family meal with out all the preperation. I'm SO not a cook. However I just let MIL use my kitchen, it's basically the same!! haha.
Hope you all have safe travels and eat wonderful food!

We're going down to my parents after we get Liam from school Wednesday. Dinner at their house Thursday--I'm making the bread, apple pie, and pumpkin pie. Friday we're taking the train into Philly (the boys will love that!) to get material for Lila's christmas dress my Mom is making (4th street, aka fabric row, is awesome!). Then Saturday we're having a Thanksgiving dinner with dh's parents--I again am making pies. And maybe getting our tree

Im still torn! Ive always wanted to do a big thing at our place but we've never had room. Well we have room this time but we only have a lil 4 seater table. So I may be borrowing a table and chairs from my friend but then I dont think I could make everything by my self and my moms working till1 that day. So I may order everything but then I feel bad for people to be eating on a plastic table and chairs...hmmmm. what to do!

Everyone has such great plans-- Angela, I hope you get to have dinner with your "Road Family".
We are having dinner with my family-- Thanksgiving is always my family. This year, my mom will cook and I will help-- One of my goals for being 25 was to learn to cook a bit, and I have. It will just be my Mom, Dad {yes, they're "back together"-ish}, My grandparents, my great Aunt, my Godmother, and my Godsister. I'm a bit sad my brother can't join us {He is the manager of a gas station at a major intersection right by the Thruway and they don't close} and my sister, her DH, and all of the kids will be at her in-laws.
Luckily, her in-laws join us for Christmas Eve dinner, so we can be together again.
And then of course, Michael has to be to work at 2 am on Black Friday, but it will be easier or him this year as a Geek Squad agent then as a floor associate because I doubt many people will be bringing in broken things to be replaced.

Dinner at lunchtime at my dad's. Then dinner at dinnertime at my mom's. Being pregnant, I am totally up for this feast! Then Henry is spending the night at my mom's so Ed and I can do BF shopping.

Yes, we got an au pair back in August. Her name is Fran, and she's amazing! She's the perfect solution for our family, where both my husband and I are working professionals, with long hours. If you compare the cost of two small children in day care, with an au pair, it's not a big difference. Plus there are a lot of perks!

It will be just the 3 of us this year. I'll cook a fairly traditional meal. I've never had such a "small" Thanksgiving and I have mixed feelings about it. Part of me feels independent, but I think part of me will feel really lonely and sad the day of Last year we had EVERYONE over at our house and it was amazing.
DH's parents offered to fly us to Idaho for Thanksgiving by DH told them no thanks He's too busy with preparing for finals, apparently. Sigh. I really wanted to go.
