Not sure if I should be worried....

Before we went on vacation, for like 2 weeks, Henry always seemed tired. He sleeps at LEAST 7:30pm-5:30am, plus at LEAST a 2 hr nap during the day. I've tried putting him down for extra naps if I see him rubbing his eyes a lot and being moody, but he only plays in his crib (unless it's his scheduled nap time).

Then we went to Disney, and while he got the same amounts of sleep, I could totally understand from all the excitement why he was so exhausted. A few days later, and I thought he'd recovered by now.

For the most part he eats a balanced diet. He's never listless. In fact he has these spurts where he could just run forever. But he's still cranky a lot and rubs his eyes/becoming glassy eyed.

I'm worried he's sick. Or maybe a deficiency? I'm afraid to take him to the doctor because I don't want my only option to be drawing his blood.

Anyone else experiencing this with their toddler? Is 18-19 months a growth spurt time?

It sounds like the normal amout to me. Oliver sleeps around 11 hours during the night and then a 1-3 hour nap. Nap is usually 2 hours on average. Sometimes night time can be 10 hours. I don't see any reason anything looks off for Henry unless I"m ready something wrong.??

Most resources will tell you that babies age 18 - 24 months need between 13 and 15 hours of sleep per day. There is a lot of physical and brain development going on during the first three years and lots of rest is especially beneficial. I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Matthew typically sleeps from 8:00 pm to 7:00 am and then has a 1.5 hour nap and he seems like he is still tired and cranky a lot of time. In his case I think it could be b/c he kind of a restless sleeper, waking up and whining, then going back to sleep.

J.J usually falls asleep between 8-8:30 and sleeps till 7:30 and takes anywhere from a 1.5-3 hour nap during the day. He rubs his eyes a lot too -- which is why sometimes we have quiet time, where we cuddle on the couch and just watch one of my TV shows for 20 or so minutes and then he is good to go again.

Reid usually sleeps from 8pm-7:00 or 7:30. He rarely naps...usually only if he falls asleep in the car

Henry is at one of those ages where everything will start to confuse you. He will start to break routines and reform them, only to break them again.

I wouldn't be worried about tired. But the word "listless" worries me, as a healthcare provider. Drake seems tired alot too. They are just active little boys all the time! I'd just keep an eye on it.

PS- Loved your Disney pics! We are going in March, and I'm super excited. Any tips for me?

I think I would lose my mind if Oliver stopped napping! I look forward to nap time each day so I can have time to myself! lol AND to not being bossed around for 2 hours!

She will have an hour nap maybe an hour and a half at 1PM

It sounds normal to me .. they are still only little and still need a fair amount of sleep in a 24 hour period xx
