Anyone have any ideas for some good freezable meals I could make before bubs arrives? I want the freezer full, so I don't have to cook for those first few weeks!

Any kind of soup will freeze well. I haven't frozen a lot of things but I plan to for this next baby. Def freeze as much as you can! I thought a few ppl would bring me meals but it did not happen.

Thanks for this thread! I need ideas too. I'm planning on making and freezing spaghetti sauce and chicken pot pies (and other pies too). Chris' parents are giving us a new freezer for Christmas and I want to fill it!

i froze potato leek soup recently that was reaaaaaaally good.
i second the lasagna suggestion, it's good cause it has carbs/protien/veg all in one.
you guys are going into summer right now though so you must have lots of good foods coming into season. maybe a veggie primavera sauce?
if you and df have a bbq, u could just bbq a lot, that keeps most of the mess outside. so freeze (in bags) chicken breasts or steaks or shrimps in some marinade & then just submerge in cool water for like an hour to thaw. skewer some veggies to bbq with them. microwave potatoes to 'bake' them fast!

Lasagna
Plain rice that you could use with stew or another type of sauce that's frozen.
Calzones
Shepherd's pie
Mac n' Cheese (here we do macaroni pie, yummy)

If you want breakfast ideas too. I love the Pillsbury frozen buttermilk biscuits.

I have a sister who's had success with freezing dough dor breads, muffins but I've not attempted it.

I've got a tray of lasagna in the freezer right now and will be adding meatloaf in there this week as well. I'm also going to be doing chicken tetrazzini (minus the peas because I think they're gross in this dish) and baked penne with chicken and sun-dried tomatoes. Instead of sun-dried tomatoes I slow roast some grape tomatoes, they freeze better.

I freeze quiche all the time. Whenever I make it I serve one and freeze one. The trick is to let the quiche completely cool, wrap in Saran wrap, then wrap in aluminum foil, and then wrap in parchment paper. I know it sounds like overkill but it's a surefire way to prevent freezer burn.
