Can anyone recommend a potty seat? Especially the boy moms?

I don't really know when Matthew will be ready but I want to get him one. He has a potty chair but I think maybe he'd do better on a seat on the big potty because he might stay on there longer.

I was reading something that said the cushy ones can absorb the pee and get stinky. And also I know it needs to have something on it to keep the pee from going up if he is not pointed down enough?

I'm not really any help

But we use a potty seat we got from Target with Elmo on it. It's a harder seat, handles on the sides, and a little lip on the front for catching the. He doesn't seem to find it uncomfortable but he hasn't peed on it yet.

Curtis loves his

Amazon.com: Disney Cars Soft Potty Seat - Red/Blue: Baby

it's soft but I don't have any issue with absorbing. Since things can take a while I like for them to be or else they can get red marks on their bums! (he got that with his little potty seat).

It comes apart for easy cleaning. The boy part at the front works REALLY well!!! He sometimes waits a while and it come out strong but it still helps to keep it all going into the potty

This is the one Landen has and it works great. the way the little eyes come up help keep the pee in. Now Landen insists on peeing like a man so the higher back helps keep it all in. lol!

Google potty seats and injuries. When Brayden was about 2 there was a lot of talk about specific seats that were never recalled but were REALLY hurting little boys. It wasn't so bad for the girls, but one little boy nearly had his penis cut off by it. The inside of the seat where the plastic goes together was so sharp it cuts them. Brady had a white one that just sat on the regular seat, but I made sure the seam was smooth and not dangerous. He also had a regular potty chair but never really liked it. To be honest, the seat was a bit of a waste since he learned fairly quickly to stand and pee and then point it down to poo.

oh and his was cushy and soft, but it didn't absorb anything. But again, we never used it for long. As long as you clean it off after he uses it, I would think it would be fine.

We have two baby bjorns and love them! We taught Oliver to hold his penis down so he doesn't dripple on the side of the seat. I bought a cheaper one and it was awful! I really love the baby bjorn potty chairs. I'm not into the ones that are childish like with charactors on them.

Btw - We have the baby bjorn that goes on the big toliet and two baby bjorn's that are his size on the floor. He doesn't like the seat that covers the big toliet. It might be a good idea to have both so he can pick what he prefers when he is ready. The nice thing about the ones on the floor is that they can go on there own without needing your help to lift them on the big toliet.

Thanks for the thoughts so far! The Baby Bjorn seat that goes on the toilet has awesome reviews but it is hard plastic so it's good to know Oliver doesn't care for it.

I might get a cheaper one that is cushy b/c I am worried he might be uncomfortable on the hard plastic now that's been mentioned.

We have a potty seat that was from my niece (meticulously cleaned, haha) and he sits on it fully clothed for about 2 seconds and he likes to play with it sometimes. I haven't really done a lot of sitting him naked on the potty though, b/c then he just runs all over the house naked and doesn't want a diaper or clothes on again.

baby bjorn vote here! However london has the one that covers the toilet (I don't want to wash pee/poo out of a chair LOL). But yeah you would need a step stool so he can get on it on his own.
