Well, we are getting what we want, and that's to know what and how much food J.J is eating.
We asked the director to step in to the meeting because well, she needed to be there. I was already aggravated that this meeting had to take place and then when the head teacher didn't show till 9:10, I was even more angry. Then I was fuming when the supervisor of the infant/toddlers/executive director called in sick.
Once we presented them with the notes from the doctors (i had one from his pediatrician, which also notes J.J's poor weight gain and his allergist -- both which stated -- provide the parents with his nutritional intake daily) they STILL were fighting with us saying how much easier it will be for them for us to call them, or to pick food up off the floor and send it home. NO NO NO!
We ever so politely, but angerly, told them we don't want dirty food from the floor (which the head teacher tried DENYING that my sons throws food on the floor! We were just told Monday he threw breakfast on the floor! WTH!) we just want the paper. We don't have time to make phone calls in the middle of the day, 3 times a day, either. We need the paper so that if he has a reaction, we can look over it and say well, it was not that because he did not eat it, or, it was not that because he only had a 1/4 of it. Then they were like, Oh you mean you keep a record of what he eats?
A DUH!!! My child has allergies! And is not gaining weight! Of COURSE i keep a record of what he eats!
Anyway, we are getting what we want again. So thats good. It should not have even had to come to a meeting. A doctors note should have been good enough. I was about to go ape schit on the director when she was like "Well we have never provided forms for the parents.." MAYBE YOU OUGHT TO CHANGE YOUR POLICY LADY. EVERY OTHER DAY CARE DOES IT. I DON'T KNOW OF ANY WHO DON'T. STOP BEING LAZY AND FRIGGIN' DO IT.
I don't understand why it was SO hard to get this. We've explained to them about J.J's allergies -- NUMEROUS times. Heck we had a conference 2 months ago with the head teacher explaining EVERYTHING. We've explained to them -- He has not gained more then a pound in 8 months and his doctors are concerned. They still DID NOT GET IT!
I told the head teacher she should think of a career change if she can not or is not willing to work with a child who has special needs. It's not that J.J is a "real" special needs kid, but you know what I mean. DH told her she needs to learn to communicate better. All she said was "Interesting". I could tell we upset her (GOOD) because she was shaking. GOOD. I will ALWAYS do what is in the best interest of my child END OF STORY.
So, thats that.
Now, if i can have a good outcome with the psychology department (see private area for that story) i'll be doing good!
