Do you have the same baby naming style as the majority of your family/friends?
I was thinking about this because last night I got together with one of my friends who very much prefers traditional names. If they have a boy, his name will be James. She physically cringed at my baby names, haha (not Reid, but the ones I like for a future baby)

Nooooooo....
All my friends and especially Family have more traditional names. We have 2 Hannah's, I hear that name more now days. I wasn't to happy with naming Baylen's middle name " thomas" cause it's so common but it's for David's Dad and Grandpa.

I think our naming is less traditional than most of my friends and family.

definitely not! although my mom (so far) loves the names I love. My BFF however... she likes the names I like but she hates the fact that I want to shorten them (ie: Abigail would be Abby; Sophia would be Sophie, etc.)
I tend to have very traditional tastes. especially having grown up with a non common name.

Nope they all think I'm dumb for naming my kids with Gaelic names. But then again my friends don't really use traditional names either.
Let's see, their kids are named; Shyanne Rain-Lyn, Ryan Kaden (she calls him both), Parker, Hunter, Skyler(boy), Tristan. (dh's friend her kid's names are Shaylie and Shadd, those are closer to being "weird" like our kids names)
I try to stick away from traditional, thats why using Elizabeth for Kieran's middle name bothered me but it was the only thing that sounded good for flow to us.

The names we like are I guess more popular than traditional. However, J.J got his name because he is named after my cousin. No other reason.

I think we have different naming styles but we all accept them. I choose my names based on their meanings. My family has a mixture of traditional and some unique names.
I just say try not to use names that will cause your child to be made fun of and consider the initials of the names and possible words they may form.

i prefer established names, rather than newer fangled ones. that being said i'm open to names from all different languages/cultures so maybe that makes me more non-traditional.....
i think most of our friends gave their kids traditional yet not extrememly common names...

I like old fashion names that are not overly popular. Some of Oliver's little friends names are Jack, Caitlin, and Olivia. My friend who just had a baby named her son Macsen and it's a welsh name which is what the prefer when looking for baby names. The two kids I watch are Jett and Gabrielle. I don't know.. I guess I don't think we have the same style but maybe that is because I'm not crazy about any of the names above?

I don't think we do. I got a lot of flack for my boys names so I'm assuming that means our style is way different than most people we know. My niece and nephew are Caitlin and Shawn, all my cousins first born sons are named for their fathers and they each have had a girl since: Dennis III, Joseph, and Ruby; Damien Jr. and Jane; Samuel and Annarose. My brother and sil are having a little boy in February and they're considering Jacob, Ethan and Andrew. I think most of our family/friends thing our choices are pretty "out there." I've only heard positive comments about Lila but if we ever have another baby probably not for that baby's name.

Eh...I like more traditional, but not overly used names. My family and friends have the same taste.

I think my naming style is similar to a few of my friends - different, but not too "out there" - I have Reid and my friends have Teegan, Tatum, Welyn...all of which I really like.
However, amungst my family, I don't think we have similar styles at all. My niece is Kaydriana, other niece is Emma, cousins are Olivia and Eva (eh-vah), Jack, Luke (two of them) and Hazel....Hazel and Luke are siblings....I thought that was odd! Haha.

Absolutely not, though neither of my sisters have kids yet so I don't know what their naming styles are. At least no one has said anything negative about Xander's name. I was a little worried my one sister would give me crap, but she never did. Everyone accepted his name with open arms.

I like names that are different but not odd, and definitely not popular. Much more traditional.
There aren't many LOs in our family right now for me to compare. But my niece is named Kennedy, which is one that I personally wouldn't pick.
I still feel like THIS kid will never get a name. I love Jude but that will be strange to my family. They thought Edison was a bit odd.

Probably similar to my older brother/mom/dad/inlaws. Very traditional. Well, except Matthew's middle name is not, but that's a family name on Dh's side. Very different from my little bro/SIL. My mom is having fits b/c SIL says if they have a boy his name will be Zaylen (sp?)
As far as friends...I'd say most of my mommy friends have picked fairly traditional names, though of course some are more/less common.

It's a fair mix of traditional or family names and non-traditional in our circle of family/friends. We think of "our" names as being traditional, but have some modern flairs thrown in with middle names or combinations. We've had our names picked out for forever! But we agreed not to tell anyone the name until the birth-day. If you're so inclined, you could search through my old posts cause I know I listed them back in the day. . .

Somewhat. My sibs and I have a mixture of more traditional and not so traditional. In order from oldest to youngest we are Kaleigh, Jonathan, Brendan, and Bailey.
My BFF has an Austin and her next will be either Jaxen for a boy or Kaidance for a girl.
Ours will be Maddisyn (not sure on a 2nd girls name yet) Landyn or Nolyn. Which are getting to be more common names with a less common spelling.
